Monday’s Best NBA Picks & Predictions
Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook | All bets are for 1 unit
Phoenix Suns (-460) at Washington Wizards (+360) | O/U 233.5 (-110/-110)
The Suns (18-13) swept a two-game back-to-back in New Orleans over the weekend, winning 1115-108 on Friday as a 5-point favorite, and 123-114 on Saturday as a 4.5-point favorite. The under cashed in each of the outings. Phoenix has covered five consecutive games, too.
It’s the third stop on a four-game road trip, and Phoenix looks to stay hot. The Suns have posted 115+ points in each of the past four games, while allowing at least 108 points in each of those games. The under is 4-2 in the past six games, and 6-3 in the previous nine outings.
For the Wizards (7-23), Washington has surprised in back-to-back games, winning as an 8-point underdog in wins over Toronto (138-117) on Friday and over Memphis (116-112) on Sunday. While the under cashed against the Grizzlies, the over is on a 4-1 run in the past five games.
Washington has allowed 129.4 points per game (PPG), while teams are hitting 47.3% from the field and 36.7% from behind the 3-point line against them.
Let’s roll with the Wizards catching double digits, and we’ll go high based on Washington’s leaky defense.
Picks: Wizards +10.5 (-110) & Over 233.5 Points (-110)
Orlando Magic (-120) at Toronto Raptors (+102) | O/U 221.5 (-114/-106)
The Magic (18-14) and the Raptors (19-14) meet at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Toronto has won and covered each of the past three meetings in this series, while the under has cashed in five of the past six installments.
Orlando kicks off a three-game road trip in Toronto, and it is looking to follow up a 127-126 win over Denver last time out. The Magic haven’t been able to stack wins since going on a three-game run from November 25th to December 1st. The Magic also had a rare cover as a 1.5-point underdog on Saturday, snapping a 0-5-1 against the spread (ATS) skid. Despite the cover, Orlando is still 2-9-1 ATS in the past 12 games. Orlando has cashed low in three of the past four games.
For Toronto, it picked up a 141-127 win in overtime on Sunday, cashing outright as a 6-point underdog as the over (233) easily hit. Like the Magic, the Raptors haven’t had a lot of success stacking wins, winning two in a row on just one occasion in the past 14 outings. While Toronto is 2-1 ATS in the past three games, it is just 4-11 ATS in the past 15 games. And while the over is 2-0 in the past two games, the under has hit at a 6-2 clip in the past eight outings.
Let’s back the Raptors as short underdogs at home, and we’ll go low on the total.
Picks: Raptors Moneyline (+104) & Under 221.5 Points (-106)
Cleveland Cavaliers (+144) at San Antonio Spurs (-172) | O/U 241.5 (-110/-110)
The Cavaliers (17-16) and Spurs (23-9) meet at 8:00 p.m. ET at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio on NBC and Peacock.
Cleveland has won six in a row in this series, while the Spurs are 5-2 ATS in the past seven meetings. However, Cleveland won 130-117 as 5.5-point favorites in the first meeting this season at Rocket Arena. That was a game that Victor Wembanyama missed due to injury, however. Devin Vassell (28 points) and De’Aaron Fox (25 points) led the way, as they were two of the team’s top scorers despite no Wembanyama. Donovan Mitchell went for 28 points in the win, while seven players went for 11+ points.
The Cavaliers are 0-2 straight up (SU)/ATS on the road trip so far, and they’re 1-8 ATS in the past nine games, while the over is 4-1 in the past five outings.
The Spurs have won eight of the past nine regular-season games, while going 6-2 ATS in the past eight outings. The under has cashed in five of the past seven games, too.
Surprisingly, this spread isn’t a little higher. Back the Spurs laying the points, and let’s go low on the number.
Picks: Spurs -4 (-106) & Under 241.5 Points (-110)
