NBA Odds, Picks & Predictions: Monday (2/9)
The 2025-26 National Basketball Association (NBA) is front and center in the North American sports world, as the National Hockey League is on hiatus due to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, and Super Bowl LX in the rear-view mirror, with football season officially buttoned up. That leaves basketball, the NBA and college hoops, as the only game in town, and Monday’s college slate isn’t great, either.
Hopefully you racked up some wins on Super Bowl Sunday, and you can put some of that money right back in action Monday in the NBA. We have a doubleheader on Peacock, too, with the Milwaukee Bucks and Orlando Magic meeting at 7:30 p.m. ET, and the Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Lakers squaring off at 10 p.m. ET. Let’s build our bankroll with our best NBA picks & predictions for Monday, February 9.

Milwaukee Bucks (+310) at Orlando Magic (-390) | O/U 218.5 (-110/-110)
The Bucks (21-29) and the Magic (27-24) meet in O-Town on Peacock at 7:30 p.m. ET.
The Bucks were listening to offers for superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo before the NBA trade deadline, but nobody was able to knock their socks off with an offer, so he remains in Cream City. This is the first meeting between these teams this season, and it’s the first of two straight meetings in a back-to-back in Orlando, with the set wrapping up Wednesday night. These teams also meet March 8 in Wisconsin, too.
The aforementioned Antetokounmpo (calf) is sidelined due to a strained right calf, while the Magic have Franz Wagner (ankle) carrying a questionable tag due to a left high ankle sprain. If Wagner is able to play, it’s a good spot for the home team.
Milwaukee had a successful homestand despite all of the swirling trade winds, going 3-0 straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS) last week, while the Over went 2-1. The Bucks won and covered all three games at home despite being an underdog, too. While the Bucks were sharp at home, they have dropped three in a row on the road, while also going 0-3 ATS, and Milwaukee is 1-5 SU/ATS in the past six away from home, too.
Orlando has won the past two games, both at home, and it is working on a three-game win streak at Kia Center, while going 2-1 ATS. Let’s go lightly on Orlando initially. Circle back around and make sure Wagner is given the green light. If he is active, the Magic is worth playing for a full unit. We’ll also go Over, based on the fact the Magic are 4-2 in the past six games, including three straight at home.
Picks: Magic -9.5 (-110) & Over 218.5 Points (-110)
Sacramento Kings (+205) at New Orleans Pelicans (-250) | O/U 231.5 (-110/-110)
A lot of people might look at the Kings (12-42) and Pelicans (14-40) matchup, and scoff, but there is value to be had, even in games which might not necessarily be worth watching.
While the Kings have won three of the past four meetings in the series, all last season, New Orleans is an impressive 9-1 ATS in the past 10 meetings in this series since Nov. 20, 2023, with the Under going 5-1 in the past six meetings in the Big Easy. Interested yet?
The Kings will be without new addition De’Andre Hunter, formerly of the Cavaliers, as he deals with a left eye injury, and Zach LaVine (finger), Malik Monk (illness) and Keegan Murray (ankle) are all out, too. In addition, Doug McDermott (shoulder) and Domantas Sabonis (back) are each listed as questionable.
For the Pellies, they’re relatively healthy, with no notable injuries, and only Dejounte Murray (Achilles) listed on the injury report, and he has been out all season.
The Kings lost 132-126 at home to the Cavs on Saturday, but they covered as 13-point underdogs while the Over (229.5) cashed. Sacto has dropped 12 in a row, however, while going just 4-8 ATS in the span. The Over is 8-3 across the past 11 outings.
The Pelicans surprised the Minnesota Timberwolves 119-115 in the Twin Cities as an 8.5-point underdog while the Under (237.5) cashed. they’re also a respectable 4-4 SU in the past eight games, while going 5-3 ATS. The Under is 5-2 across the past seven games, and 13-6 in the past 19 outings, too.
Based on the series trends, we’ll go low on the total in New Orleans, and let’s take the Pelicans laying the points, based on their dominance against the number in this series.
Picks: Pelicans -6.5 (-110) & Under 231.5 Points (-110)
Oklahoma City Thunder (-215) at Los Angeles Lakers (+180) | O/U 219.5 (-108/-112)
The Thunder (40-13) and the Lakers (32-19) square off at Crypto.com Arena at 10:30 p.m. ET on Peacock in the second end of a doubleheader.
The TV executives can’t be happy that this game will be missing plenty of star power, as defending MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (abdominal strain) is sidelined, while Luka Doncic (hamstring) is nursing a strained left hamstring. The good news is that Deandre Ayton has been battling a sore right knee, but he is considered probable to play, which is a boost for the Lakers.
OKC lost at home to the Houston Rockets on Saturday, 112-106, failing as a 3.5-point favorite without SGA, and the Thunder are just 3-5 SU in the past eight games, while going 2-5-1 ATS in the span. The Over is 4-1 in the past five games, and 8-3 across the past 11 outings.
The Lakers have won three in a row, while also covering three straight, despite the lack of Luka lately. Since Jan. 18, L.A. is 8-3 SU/ATS in the past 11 games, too, as the Under is 3-1 in the past four outings, while going 8-3 in that aforementioned 11-game span.
Let’s back the Lakers catching nearly three buckets on their home floor, and we’ll go low on the total.
Picks: Lakers +5.5 (-106) & Under 219.5 Points (-112)
