Sunday’s Best NBA Picks & Predictions

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Denver Nuggets vs. Memphis Grizzlies

I am not sure why Denver is an underdog in this game. Yes, they are still without Nikola Jokic, Aaron Gordon and Christian Braun. To make matters worse, Peyton Watson, Jonas Valanciunas and Jamal Murray are game-time decisions. Despite the laundry list of injuries they are dealing with, however, the Nuggets have won six in a row on the road.

Factor in Memphis losing seven out of 10 starts to kick off the New Year and their own long list of injuries, and it sounds like Denver should be a road favorite. But they aren't (advantage, bettors).

Pick: Nuggets Moneyline (+136)

Golden State Warriors vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

Losing Jimmy Butler to a season-ending ACL injury may be something the Golden State Warriors may not be able to overcome. In the two games since the injury happened, they were blown out 145-127 and 123-115. A beaten-up Golden State roster will not have an answer for Minnesota's bigs and will likely struggle to contain the Timberwolves on the offensive end of the court.

If the last two games for the Warriors are any indication, the final score will easily go over this total. Minnesota's defense has struggled to contain Steph Curry and will probably do so again on Sunday. With how the Warriors have played without Butler, Minnesota should easily cover this spread.

Picks: Timberwolves -6.5 (-112) & Over 235.5 Points (-106)

Brooklyn Nets vs. Los Angeles Clippers

It has been a rough season for the Nets, who have lost nine of their last 10 games. The last time they won a game on the road was against the Minnesota Timberwolves on December 27th (123-107). They did force Boston into double-overtime before finally losing 130-126. A couple of nights prior, they got crushed 120-66 by the Knicks in New York.

As for the Clippers, Los Angeles is fresh off a 112-104 Thursday night win over the Lakers, and they have won seven of their last eight games, including a 121-105 win over the Nets on January 9th. There is no reason to think the Clippers will have any trouble taking care of business against the lowly Nets.

Pick: Clippers -9 (-106)
