San Antonio Spurs (+220) at Oklahoma City Thunder (-270) | O/U 228.5 (-114/-106)
The Spurs (27-13) and the Thunder (33-7) meet for the fourth time this season. And, Oklahoma City hopes that the fourth time is the charm.
The defending champs have a total of seven losses, and three of them have come against San Antonio, including the NBA Cup semi-finals in the first meeting. The Spurs have been the Thunder’s kryptonite, winning and covering all three games as an underdog, including a 117-102 win on Christmas Day, cashing as an 11.5-point underdog as the under (246.5) connected. San Antonio is 5-1 against the spread (ATS) in the past six meetings since October 30th, 2024, while the under is 5-2 in the past seven in the series.
For the Spurs, Devin Vassell (adductor) is out for Tuesday’s game, while the Thunder will be without Isaiah Hartenstein (calf).
The Spurs have won two of the past three games outright, while going 3-0 ATS in the past three outings, and they’re 5-2 ATS in the past seven games. The under has cashed in all six games since the ball dropped to ring in 2026. Since that Christmas Day win, the under is 9-1 in the past 10 outings.
Oklahoma City was embarrassed 124-97 by the Charlotte Hornets on January 5th. While it has won the past three games, the Thunder is still 0-5 ATS in the past five outings, and the over has cashed in three in a row.
Based on San Antonio’s inexplicable dominance in this series, it’s super tempting to take the Spurs straight up (SU) for the chance to more than double up. But, we’ll take the Spurs with the points, while going low on the total.
Picks: Spurs +8 (-114) & Under 228.5 Points (-106)
Portland Trail Blazers (+340) at Golden State Warriors (-430) | O/U 223.5 (-112/-108)
The Trail Blazers (19-21) and the Warriors (21-19) hook up in the second end of the doubleheader. And, like the game above, the underdog has dominated the series this season.
Portland is a perfect 3-0 SU/ATS in three games this season against Golden State, all as an underdog, while the over has cashed in each of the meetings. In fact, Portland has scored at least 127 points in each of the games, averaging 134 points per game (PPG), while allowing 124.3 PPG to the Warriors.
The win streak for the Trail Blazers in this series will certainly be tested, as all-everything Deni Avdija is out due to a sore lower back, and Jerami Grant is doubtful due to left Achilles tendinitis. For the Warriors, only Seth Curry is a notable missing player, as he battles left sciatic nerve issues.
Portland suffered a 123-114 loss to the visiting New York Knicks last time out, snapping a five-game win and cover streak. That was with Avdija in the lineup.
Golden State suffered a 124-111 loss to the Atlanta Hawks at Chase Center last time out as a 7-point favorite as the under (236.5) cashed. The Warriors are 3-3 SU in the past six games, and 2-5 ATS in the past seven outings. The over has a 4-3 edge in the past seven games and is 6-4 across the past 10 tries.
Even though Avdija is missing, and Grant is likely to join him in street clothes, we’ll back the Trail Blazers catching double digits. They should be able to keep the margin of defeat in the single digits. We’ll go over the total, too, as these teams have combined for 258.3 PPG in the first three meetings.
Picks: Trail Blazers +10.5 (-114) & Over 223.5 Points (-112)
