Golden State Warriors (+250) at Oklahoma City Thunder (-310) | O/U 227.5 (-110/-110)
The Warriors (6-5) meet the defending champion Thunder (10-1) at Paycom Center with a tip-off time of 8:00 p.m. ET.
Golden State has had a tale of two seasons. It opened on the road against the Los Angeles Lakers, winning 119-109 as a 2.5-point favorite as the over (227.5) cashed. Since then, the Warriors have dropped five straight games on the road, losing by at least five points in each, and by 10+ points on three occasions. Overall, Golden State is just 2-4 against the spread (ATS) in the past six games after opening the season 4-1 ATS in the first five.
As far as the total is concerned, the over is 4-0 in the first four outings, but the under has a 4-3 edge in the past seven games since October 28th. The over is 5-1 in six road games this season; however, Golden State has allowed at least 120 points in four of the past five contests.
Oklahoma City opened the season 1-4 ATS in the first five games, including double-overtime victories in the first two games, both non-covers. The Thunder are 5-1 ATS in the past six outings, and they’ve scored at least 114 points in six in a row and in nine out of 11 outings. The over is 4-2 in the past six games, too.
Last season, Golden State won two out of three meetings between these two teams. Golden State is 3-0-1 ATS in the past four in the series, while the over is 9-1 in the past 10 games in this series. However, we’ll ignore the series trends and go with what we have seen lately from these teams. Take Oklahoma City laying the points, while going over on the total.
Picks: Thunder -7.5 (-112) & Over 227.5 Points (-110)
Denver Nuggets (-355) at Sacramento Kings (+285) | O/U 242.5 (-110/-110)
The Nuggets (7-2) meet the Kings (3-7) at 11:00 p.m. ET in the second end of the nationally-televised doubleheader on NBC and Peacock.
Denver is on fire this season, going 6-0 at home, but it is just 1-2 on the road. For Sacramento, it is 2-3 at home, so we’ll see what happens. There is a big number for the total, too.
The Nuggets have won six in a row in this series, with Denver going 4-2 ATS in the span. The over is 4-1 in the past five meetings. That includes the first meeting this season, a 130-124 victory at Ball Arena in Denver on November 3rd, as the Kings covered, catching 11.5 points, and the over (237) cashed.
Denver has won four in a row, each at home. In its most recent road game, against the Portland Trail Blazers at MODA Center on October 31st, it was a trick, not a treat, with the Nuggets going down 109-107 as a 5.5-point favorite as the under (240) connected. On the road, Denver is 1-2 ATS, while the over is 2-1. The Nuggets have scored 117+ points in four in a row and in eight out of the past nine games, while notching at least 122 points seven times.
Sacramento has dropped two in a row and six out of the past eight games, while failing to cover the past two outings. The over is 5-1 in the past six games, with Sacramento allowing 130+ points in four of the past five outings and at least 126 points in six of the past eight games.
Let’s back the Kings catching more than four buckets, and we’ll go with the over, even though this is a huge total.
Picks: Kings +8.5 (-110) & Over 242.5 Points (-110)
