Miami Heat (-110) at Orlando Magic (-106) | O/U 235.5 (-108/-112

The Heat (14-10) and Magic (14-10) meet at the Kia Center in the first quarter-final in Orlando at 6:00 p.m. ET on Prime Video.

These teams split the four-game regular-season series 2-2 last season, but Orlando has won each of the installments this season. Orlando won 125-121 on October 22nd at home, but Miami covered as an 8.5-point underdog as the over (215) cashed. Orlando won the second contest 106-105, as Miami again covered as a 7-point underdog and the under (241) connected.

In that most recent game, Miami hit 50% (40-of-80) from the field, while going just 37% (7-of-19) from behind the three-point line. Guard Norman Powell went for a team-high 28 points, while forward/center Bam Adebayo posted 24 points, 15 rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks, while also knocking down a pair of triples.

For Orlando, forward Franz Wagner went for a game-high 32 points on 12-of-22 from the field, and he hit four triples. Guard Jalen Suggs was good for 22 points, also hitting four three-pointers. The Magic managed to win despite shooting just 41% (38-of-92) from the field, while leaving plenty of points on the floor, hitting 75% (18-of-24) from the free-throw line. Unfortunately for the Magic, Wagner is sidelined for this one due to a left high-ankle sprain.

Miami has lost three in a row, and it is just 2-5 against the spread (ATS) in the past seven games, while the under has hit in three in a row and five of the past seven outings.

Orlando has dropped two of the past three outings, while going 0-4 ATS in the past four outings, so something’s gotta give. The under is 3-0 in the past three games, and 4-1 in the past five outings. The under is your best bet here. And we’ll take Miami straight up (SU), mainly because of Wagner’s absence.

Picks: Heat Moneyline (-110) & Under 235.5 Points (-112)

New York Knicks (-198) at Toronto Raptors (+166) | O/U 225.5 (-114/-106

The Knicks (16-7) and Raptors (15-10) square off at Scotiabank Arena at 8:30 p.m. ET. New York is 3-6 on the road, while Toronto has managed an 8-5 record at home.

New York has dominated this series in recent seasons, winning nine consecutive games, while going 8-1 ATS. The under/over have alternated in each of the past eight meetings since December 11th, 2023.

The Knicks have won three in a row, and seven of the past eight games, while also going 3-0 ATS in the past three games, and 7-1 ATS in the previous eight outings. That includes a 116-94 win at Madison Square Garden on November 30th, cashing as an 8.5-point favorite as the under (229.5) cashed.

New York hit 46% (44-of-96) from the field, while hitting 36% (16-of-45) from behind the arc, while six players scored 13+ points, including 22 points from center/forward Karl-Anthony Towns with 22 points, eight rebounds and two assists. Forward Josh Hart was good for 20 points and 12 rebounds, while hitting four triples. Guard Miles McBride also hit four triples, finishing with 14 points. McBride is out with an ankle sprain, while Towns is questionable due to a calf injury.

Toronto hit just 42% (37-of-88) from the field, while hitting 30% (11-of-37) from behind the arc, while going a dismal 53% (9-of-17) from the free-throw line, while turning it over 18 times. Center/forward Scottie Barnes did his part, scoring 18 points with five rebounds, four assists and two blocks, while knocking down four triples. Guard Immanuel Quickley also had four threes, going for 19 points with eight assists. RJ Barrett will be sidelined again due to a sprained knee.

The trends are overwhelming, and you have to back the Knicks to grab the 10th straight win in the series. They’re 8-1 ATS in the past nine, so lay the points. We’ll go low on the total, too.

Picks: Knicks -5.5 (-108) & Under 224.5 Points (-106)
