NBA Parlay Odds & Picks for Wednesday, April 13 (2022)

We’re 1/3 complete with the 2021-22 NBA play-in tournament as favorites went 2-0 last night as the Nets beat the Cavs and Timberwolves beat the Clippers. Tonight, the 9/10 seeds will face-off, as the Hornets travel to Atlanta and the Spurs to New Orleans.

Let’s take a closer look at both games and dial in on a two-team parlay I have cooked up for tonight’s action.

Leg #1. Hawks -5 | -115 at DK Sportsbook
One season removed from taking the Bucks to 6 games in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Hawks now are fighting for their life needing to win two games to make the playoffs. First, they’ll have to get by the young upstart Hornets tonight, who enter the postseason having won three straight games to finish the regular season.

For the Hawks, losses to the Heat and Raptors were their only blemishes over their past nine games, as the core of this roster is starting to get healthy and finished the season averaging 113.9 points per game. For the Hornets, the defense continued to be an issue down the stretch, allowing 114.9 points per game to rank 25th in the league.

While the Hornets might have the brighter future, I like for the veteran-led Hawks to pull away late, as Trae Young puts the East on notice they aren’t going anywhere.

Leg #2. Spurs +5.5| -115 at DK Sportsbook
The Spurs have had the Pelicans’ number this season, winning three of four against their Southwest Division rival. For the Pelicans, CJ McCollum has been a difference-maker since coming over in early February, as he’s been a veteran presence they desperately needed. Brandon Ingram has turned into a solid #2 averaging 22.7 points per game but continues to struggle to stay on the court. Having missed the last three regular-season games with hamstring tightness, he is expected to give it a go tonight.

For the Spurs, a three-game slide to end the regular season has them the away team for this one, as they’ve also dealt with a lack of veteran depth. All-Star guard Dejounte Murray leads all scorers for the Spurs (21.1 ppg), as Lonnie Walker IV has turned into a proven 6th man. I like for the Spurs to have enough to keep this one close tonight, behind their exception guard play and a big advantage in the coaching box.
