Tuesday's Best NBA +EV Bets
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Boston Celtics vs. Detroit Pistons
White was one of four Celtics players who averaged over five assists per game last season. Of course, Jayson Tatum wasn't available for most of the season. But with Jaylen Brown in Philly, I'd think White would have more chances to dish out a few dimes.
He led the team with 5.4 per game last season. If the faster pace Boston played in preseason action is any indication, we could see White feeding the Celtics’ wings all night long-and easily going over this total.
Most sportsbooks have this priced in the +100 to +110 range, but BetRivers tops them all at +120.
Pick: Derrick White Over 4.5 Assists (+120 at BetRivers)
Philadelphia 76ers vs. New York Knicks
KCP made at least one 3-pointer in 32 of 51 games for Memphis last season while averaging 21.3 minutes, mostly off the bench. He likely won't get that much playing time in Philadelphia's opener, with Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, VJ Edgecombe, Jaylen Brown, and LeBron James expected to command most of the minutes.
But even if he does see significant time, he shot just 31.6% from the 3-point range last season. While the Knicks had their issues with perimeter shooting in the regular season, they locked down in the playoffs, holding teams to 31.4%.
If KCP were a primary rotation player locked in for 20+ minutes, I'd see much less value in this prop. But since he isn't, and the Knicks are solid defensively on the perimeter, I love this prop at +150.
Pick: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Under 0.5 Made 3-Pointers (+150 at Fanatics)
Oklahoma City Thunder vs. San Antonio Spurs
Fox shot 33.2% from the 3-point line last season for the Spurs, averaging 1.8 per game (5.5 attempts). He exceeded that total in 47 of 93 games, including 14 of the first 17.
Improving perimeter shooting was one of San Antonio’s offseason goals. With Tobias Harris out tonight, that task may fall more to Fox. Since the team is going with a three-guard lineup, I'd expect Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper to do more of the ball-handling and field-general duties, leaving Fox to take advantage of the space Victor Wembanyama creates on the perimeter.
Several sportsbooks have this prop priced with minus money odds.
Pick: De'Aaron Fox Over 1.5 Made 3-Pointers (+110 at BetMGM)
