Wednesday’s Best +EV NBA Picks
76ers Moneyline (+130 at BetRivers)
The 76ers are coming into this game relatively healthy with no one of consequence on the injury report. Detroit, however, is down Isaiah Joe and Jalen Duren. Joel Embiid comes in rested after sitting out the last game.
Without Duren to slow him down/contain him, Embiid will own the paint tonight. No matter who the Pistons throw at him, Philadelphia will have the size advantage. The subsequent edge will give the 76ers an advantage.
Will that edge be enough for the 76ers to win on the road tonight? It will certainly make them competitive enough against a solid Detroit team to make the 76ers a solid value play on the Moneyline at +130.
Wizards Moneyline (+131 at DraftKings Sportsbook)
It may be wishful thinking, but I believe this Wizards team is much better than what we've seen so far. Anthony Davis, Trae Young, AJ Dybantsa and Kyshawn George are a formidable foursome. Once this team gels and starts playing its best basketball, watch out.
Atlanta's defense is inconsistent, even on its good days. It will miss Jock Landale at center tonight and could also be down Jalen Johnson. That gives me hope for a good offensive night for Washington. Enough to win? It is absolutely possible, and it’s enough to make the Washington Moneyline at +131 a solid value play.
Jazz Moneyline (+130 at DraftKings Sportsbook)
Utah's one win came against the Pelicans, 120-119 on October 23rd. The Pelicans are relatively healthy, but the Jazz are dealing with injuries (i.e., Jaren Jackson Jr.). Given that, and since it's a home game, I understand why the Pelicans are favored.
However, while the Pelicans are averaging 121+ points per game, they are giving up 120 points per game. That kind of lax defense could be just the opening Darryn Peterson needs to show off the scoring prowess that made him such a high draft pick. With a healthier team, a better record and a more consistent offense, the Pelicans should be favored. But at +130, I'd consider this a solid value play.
