NBA Player Prop Bet Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (1/10)

Jarrett Allen OVER 12.5 Points (-130 via DraftKings)

Going up against the 26th-ranked defense, I completely expect Allen to soar over his point total tonight in a pace-up spot. While Cleveland is the slowest team in the NBA, Utah is still 15 slots higher in pace.

Allen has been averaging 12.3 points over the last two weeks, and that’s still under his seasonal total, so he’s due for positive regression. Last time out against Utah, Allen tallied 20 points. While he might not reach 20+ again, 12.5 is simply too low.

Cleveland’s top-10-ranked offense should shine here tonight. While they are small favorites, I still expect an offensive-led charge by Allen and Co. over Walker Kessler to bring them to an easy victory

Josh Giddey OVER 5.5 Assists (+110 via DraftKings)

For the value play of the day, I’m going with Giddey’s assists. The Oklahoma City guard finds himself going up against a banged-up Miami team with Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo both questionable. If either is out, the Heat defense takes a hit.

The fact that this prop is plus money doesn’t make much sense to me. Giddey has averaged over 5.4 assists per game the entire season. The prop total is an average performance for him, so usually I’d expect a number closer to -110.

The BettingPros Prop Bet Cheat Sheet identifies this as one of the better plays on the slate as well with a 67 percent cover probability and a +37 percent expected value.

Evan Mobley OVER 13.5 Points (-122 via FanDuel)

While this isn’t exactly a value play, it is still close to the ‘L” word we all love. Mobley has steadily averaged 14.3 points per game this season but it’s taken a dip the last couple of weeks which has brought his point prop total down a notch.

I explained before how I see Cleveland routing Utah and I really think it will come from the frontcourt. I don’t expect everyone to go over their scheduled point total, but Allen and Mobley should show out tonight.

Other Props:

A quick side note: There is a lot of injury news that will come to the surface in the Phoenix-Golden State game. The Suns have a chance to be missing three starters while Golden State may have Steph Curry back. There will be plenty of value to be mined once lineup news drops, make sure to jump on betting when it does.
