NBA Player Prop Bets, Odds & Picks: Monday (2/24)

Luguentz Dort hasn't made a three-pointer in his last two games. Will that change when his Oklahoma City Thunder battle the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight? How will Cameron Johnson fare when his Brooklyn Nets battle the Washington Wizards? Can Jusuf Nurkic pull down at least eight rebounds in his fifth consecutive game since joining the Charlotte Hornets? Or will he struggle in a tough matchup with the Sacramento Kings?

Here are the three best NBA player props for Monday, February 24th.

Luguentz Dort Over 1.5 Three-Pointers Made (-115)

What is going on with Luguentz Dort in February? Despite averaging 2.2 made three-pointers per game this season, Dort has made more than two threes in just one of his eight February games. He's only made more than two threes once in his last 12 contests and he's failed to top that number in seven consecutive games. He's 0-for-6 from deep in his last two games, but I will back him to get right tonight.

This is Dort's fourth game against the Timberwolves this season. While he was 0-for-2 against them last night, he went 2-for-6 against them last Thursday from beyond the arc. He finished 4-for-7 from beyond the arc against them earlier this season. The Timberwolves are allowing the third-fewest three-pointers per game this season, but Dort has had success against them. Since he's been so bad of late, this plater prediction number is set with a more favorable total and price than it normally would be.

Cameron Johnson 25+ Points (+190)

Cameron Johnson has gone nine consecutive games without scoring at least 25 points. During that stretch, he's only topped 20 points twice. In the middle of that span, Johnson faced the Wizards and their 30th-ranked scoring defense, yet he only put up 17 points. However, Johnson also only played 25 minutes in that contest, a far cry from his typical 31.9 minutes per game average.

On Saturday, Johnson scored 23 against the Philadelphia 76ers despite shooting just 1-for-9 from long range. The Wizards have the sixth-worst three-point shooting defense in the NBA, so I expect Johnson to find his stroke from deep and get closer to his season average of three makes per game tonight. After all, he did make three threes against the Wizards in his meeting with them earlier this season. While Johnson hasn't had a lot of success of late, this is a player who scored at least 25 points five times in December. He can dominate a weak defense if the opportunity presents itself.

Jusuf Nurkic Over 7.5 Rebounds (+110)

Jusuf Nurkic has pulled down at least eight rebounds in all four of his games since being acquired by the Hornets. However, during that span, he's only topped eight rebounds once, pulling down 10 boards against the Nuggets. This means Nurkic's ceiling isn't very high right now, which could be problematic going up against Domantas Sabonis tonight.

All that said, Nurkic has already pulled down 11 rebounds against the Kings once this season, and he did that in just 22 minutes. Nurkic hasn't played more than 20 minutes since joining the Hornets, but he is averaging 22.8 minutes per game, so he should see an increase in playing time as he adjusts to life with his new team. Getting this number 1.6 below Nurkic's season average tells us oddsmakers are accounting for the matchup too much.
