Trendon Watford Over 22.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-110)
On Sunday, Trendon Watford scored 13 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out four assists. It was the most points, rebounds and assists he'd combined for since he recorded 32 on March 22nd.
As a player who's averaging just 9.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, it may surprise some to see his total set so high tonight. However, I'm backing the over.
Tonight, the Nets will be without Keon Johnson, Cameron Johnson, Day'Ron Sharpe, D'Angelo Russell and Noah Clooney. That's 59.2 points per game that won't be on the court tonight. Someone will have to pick up the slack, and Watford is a player who has already done so over his last two games, scoring in double figures in both.
The Pelicans are allowing the fifth-most points per game, so all the players who step on the court tonight have a great chance of crushing their season averages.
Tyus Jones 2+ Made Three-Pointers (+100)
Tyus Jones only made one three-pointer on Sunday, but it's still surprising to see the price for him to make multiple tonight set at +100.
Jones is averaging 2.1 made three-pointers per game this season, and he's shot well against the Warriors this season. He's made at least two three-pointers in two of his three games against them, and he went 4-of-5 against them from long range earlier in the year.
While Jones has made one or fewer three-pointers in four of his last seven games, he's made at least two in 10 of his last 13. The Warriors are allowing just 13.2 three-pointers per game, which ranks 12th in the league. While that would worry me for some players, Jones has already proven himself against them. Even in his worst game versus Golden State, he went 1-of-3 from deep.
Franz Wagner Over 4.5+ Assists (+100)
This is another price I'm surprised to see at +100, considering the matchup. Franz Wagner is averaging 4.8 assists per game this season, so he will need to go slightly over his season average tonight to hit this over.
Wagner has recorded at least five assists in three consecutive games, including six against the Los Angeles Clippers, the team allowing the eighth-fewest assists per game in the NBA.
Wagner has faced the Hawks twice this season. In one game, he dished out five assists. In the other, he managed just three. While neither of those performances gives me much confidence in him tonight, the Hawks rank 24th in the league in assists allowed per game.
Atlanta is allowing an average of 28.3 assists per game. With how Wagner is finding his teammates right now, there's no reason to expect his hot streak to end tonight.
