(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
Malik Beasley Over 15.5 Points (-111)
You must love how much the Detroit Pistons have turned around this franchise. The Pistons were one of the worst teams in the league last year and tied an NBA-worst 23-game losing streak. This season, with a new coaching staff and the addition of some supporting veterans, this franchise is in a good spot to make the playoffs.
Malik Beasley is one of those veterans who has played a vital role on this team. He ranks third on the team in points per game (16.5). The Pistons face the Atlanta Hawks today, one of the league’s worst defenses, allowing 119.4 points per game (26th). Beasley has had success against Atlanta this season, scoring 18+ points in all three matchups against them this season.
Zion Williamson Over 37.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-111)
It's been a disappointing season for the New Orleans Pelicans, who have the worst record in the Western Conference. The story seems to be the same as last year: Injuries. All of their top players seem to have caught the injury bug.
Zion Williamson is one of those guys who has had trouble staying on the court, appearing in only 19 out of 56 games this year. He should play in this game and could put up some big numbers. The San Antonio Spurs will notably miss Victor Wembanyama, who is out for the remainder of the season. Without the significant presence of Wembanyama, Willamson would have the advantage on the boards.
Franz Wagner Over 6.5 Rebounds (+116)
The Orlando Magic were expected to take a big leap forward after last season’s success, but they have a lot of ground to make up as they hold the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference. They dealt with injuries at the start of the season, most notably Paolo Banchero, but now everyone is healthy and they should be ready to make a run in the second half.
Franz Wagner is coming in as their leading scorer at 25 points per game, but this could be a spot to look at his rebounds. He's gone over his rebound total in five straight games and the Wizards have allowed a forward to go over their set rebound total in nine of the last 10 games.
