NBA Player Props & Bets: Friday (3/13)
There are eight NBA games today, and certainly no shortage of betting options to consider. Here are some of our favorite NBA player props for Friday, March 13th.
Amen Thompson 27+ Points + Rebounds (-118)
Amen Thompson continues to pile on the points as we head towards the end of the regular season. While the scoring performances on their own have been impressive, we are going to add some boards for this selection to give us an extra out in case he falls short of the 20-point threshold tonight.
Thompson is averaging 21.6 points and 6.4 rebounds over his previous five contests. The Rockets guard has not played fewer than 39 minutes over the last three home games. He is averaging 22.3 points and 6.7 rebounds over that span. The young guard has faced the Pelicans on two occasions this season, averaging 21.5 points and seven rebounds.
Thompson finished with at least 27 combined points + rebounds in the two games against New Orleans this season. The 23-year-old has also put up a combined 27 points + rebounds in six out of the previous seven contests. Thompson has reached 27+ combined points + rebounds in four consecutive home games.
Cody Williams 15+ Points + Rebounds + Assists (+103)
Cody Williams is currently experiencing a full-on minutes bump, which has resulted in some very solid performances. Williams has played 27+ minutes over his last five games - including four straight games of 36+ minutes. This is an extremely low total for someone who has a very good chance to be on the floor for 35 in this contest.
Williams is averaging 11.5 points, five rebounds boards and 4.8 assists in his previous five contests. The Jazz forward is averaging 10 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 32.2 minutes on the court in March. Williams is averaging 8.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists over his last five road games.
Williams has seen a gigantic increase in playing time over the previous four games - going from averaging 21.5 minutes on the season to 38.5 over that span. The Jazz forward has scored double-digit points in all four games, while shooting 51.4% from the field.
Devin Booker 6+ Assists (-101)
Devin Booker returned to the floor last Tuesday after missing four games due to a right hip strain. He is coming off a 43-point performance last night against Indiana. As risky as it may be, we are targeting his assists props in this contest.
Booker is averaging 5.7 assists over the last six games. The veteran guard finished with six or more assists in three of the six contests. Booker has totaled 22 assists over the previous three games, and is averaging 6.6 dimes in his last five games against Eastern Conference opponents.
After throwing up such a high performance in the points department, it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility for Booker to be a bit more passive in this contest. The total seems somewhat low due to the fact that the Suns are playing on the road with no rest. We feel that gives us a small edge on this prop.
Gui Santos Over 14.5 Points (-122)
As is the case with Cody Williams, Gui Santos is another player who is piling on the minutes as of late. Santos has played 31+ minutes in five consecutive games. The increase in playing time has resulted in more scoring opportunities, to which the young forward has taken full advantage.
Santos is averaging 36 minutes and 14.6 points per game in March. The Warriors forward has eclipsed 14.5 points in three consecutive outings, and is averaging two baskets from above the perimeter over that span. Santos finished with 15+ points in three out of his last five home games.
Santos is averaging 14.2 shot attempts over the previous five contests, compared to 5.7 per game on the season. The uptick in minutes and attempts is fueling our enthusiasm for this prop. Santos appears to be in a great spot to finish with 15+ points tonight.
Kris Dunn 2+ Steals (-134)
We close out the evening with a defensive selection that will carry the highest amount of juice of all our options. Nevertheless, Kris Dunn has been quite consistent in racking up the steals as of late. The Clippers face a Bulls team that will be battling in the second leg of a back-to-back.
Kris Dunn has accumulated 18 steals over the previous 10 contests and is averaging 2.4 steals in his last five home games. Dunn has swiped two steals or more in six out of the last 10 games, as well as in three out of his last five contests at the Intuit Dome.
Chicago is turning the ball over on 15 possessions each contest - 8.8 of which are made up of steals. The Clippers guard has secured two steals or more in three consecutive games. Dunn should have more than enough opportunity to finish this contest with a minimum of two steals.
Enjoy the games tonight. Best of luck with your picks.
