Friday’s Best NBA Player Props
Naz Reid Over 13.5 Points (-109)
The Minnesota Timberwolves are coming off a loss to the Pistons on Thursday night, and hit the road again on Friday to play Philadelphia. Naz Reid played 31 minutes in Thursday's contest and finished with 19 points.
Oddsmakers have set the line for this evening quite low at 13.5 points, so there's a possibility that a few players from Minnesota could get the night off. Make sure to check back on the BettingPros app later for up-to-date information.
Reid has the potential to see a few extra minutes tonight if the Timberwolves elect to rest some of their starters. Reid has played in 11 games where Minnesota is on the second leg of a back-to-back. The Timberwolves center is averaging 13 points in those games, reaching 14+ points seven times. Reid started March on a scoring slump. Yet, over the last four games, the veteran center has scored 14+ points twice.
Reid is averaging 14.2 points when playing on the road this season. Philadelphia has allowed an average of 118 points over the last three games. Scoring opportunities will, without a doubt, be available, and Reid could highly benefit. If this number goes to 15, it's probably best to seek another option, as 14 seems to be just about the highest we can go.
Ziaire Williams Over 11.5 Points (-102)
The Brooklyn Nets have all but waved the white flag. Brooklyn has visions of attaining the first pick in the draft. Anything beyond that is seemingly of little concern. This gives us a small angle on points, considering the Nets are rolling out some straightforward lineups as of late.
Ziaire Williams is averaging 24 minutes through the previous six games - an increase of 2.9 minutes per game compared to last month. The Nets forward has been quite efficient from inside the perimeter (50.8%) and beyond the arc (50%). The volume of attempts as of late also works in our favor. Williams is averaging 10.5 attempts over the previous six games.
Brooklyn's rotation can be somewhat troublesome. However, we are going to side with one of their better scoring options who appears to be in a good spot in regard to playing time. Williams has reached 12 points in five out of the last six contests, with an average of 16 points over that span.
Derrick White Under 25+ Points + Rebounds + Assists (-109)
We have been rolling with this selection for a few weeks now, and it has been paying off handsomely. This may be a risky spot given the turnaround is sure to be on the horizon. Having said that, Derrick White is having difficulty reaching 25+ combined points + rebounds + assists - a trend that should continue tonight.
White finished off the month of March shooting a woeful 38.7% from the field. Things are not much better from beyond the arc - where White is connecting on 29.4% of attempts. The Celtics guard has now finished with a shooting rate of 40% or worse in eight out of the last 13 games.
White has fallen short of 25+ combined points + rebounds + assists in seven consecutive games. Since Jayson Tatum returned to the floor, White is averaging 14.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. He has been questionable for multiple games with a knee ailment. This caused White to miss a contest last week. However, if the Celtics keep rolling him out there, it makes sense to take the under on this combo prop.
Scottie Barnes to Record a Double-Double (+109)
Scottie Barnes has recorded 29 double-doubles on the season. He is averaging 15.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 9.6 assists over the previous 10 games. We mention both the assists and rebounding numbers because Barnes is capable of recording a double-double with either.
The Raptors forward has finished with a double-double in four out of the previous six games. Opportunities for rebounds and assists will almost certainly be available in this contest. Memphis ranks in the bottom five of the league in terms of most rebounds and assists allowed.
The Grizzlies concede the third-most rebounds in the league, giving up over 55 boards to the opposition each contest. As for assists, Toronto is third, with 29.4 assists per game. Barnes has been rolling in regards to assists over the previous 10 games - posting double-digit dimes in six consecutive games. We feel good about his chances to finish this contest with another double-double.
Reed Sheppard 25+ Points + Rebounds + Assists (-108)
Reed Sheppard has assumed a tremendous scoring role for the Houston Rockets as of late, and faces an extremely vulnerable opponent tonight in the Utah Jazz. Shepard is showing great success when given playing time. The combination of scoring production and extra minutes makes this selection one of our favorites of the evening.
Sheppard has finished with 25+ combined points + rebounds + assists in consecutive contests. The young guard has scored at least 20+ points in back-to-back games. Sheppard is averaging 17.8 points, 4.9 assists and 3.5 rebounds over his last 10 home games.
The Utah Jazz allow the most points of any team in the NBA (125.7 per game). Over the last three games, that number has risen to 130 points. If Sheppard gets the opportunity for 28+ minutes, we are thrilled about his chances to hit the over on this combo prop.
Enjoy the games tonight. Best of luck with your picks.
