NBA Player Props Bets, Picks & Predictions: Thursday (1/30)
We are in the dog days of summer (winter but you get it) with the NFL season almost over and the NBA garnering more viewership. If you're just joining us for the first time, welcome, it's been a great season, and I hope we continue that trend tonight as we inch closer to the All-Star break. We have a five-game slate tonight, so we have some good props. There's still a lot in the air with Q-tags and back-to-backs. As always, monitor injury news and lineup announcements. The best way to stay sharp regarding NBA player props is by staying on top of the news. The second best way is to shop around at different books. Player props rarely have identical odds across platforms, so ensure you get the best value. Let's get to it.
Unless specified otherwise, each bet will be a single unit.

Thursday's Best NBA Player Prop Bets
Last Time: 2-0 | Season: 89-68
Ja Morant Ovr 24.5 Pts + Reb (-106 FanDuel)
Morant's player props have stayed relatively low since his return without much budge. He has been on and off, but I will continue buying stock in him until the books adjust. This is a number you wouldn't even think about over the last couple of years and I expect him to return to that form. The Rockets have been hot of late but it's mostly thanks to their offense as their defense of late has taken a step back, falling outside the top 10 in their last 10 games. The Rockets allow the fourth most points to opposing point guards and Morant and Co. get this game at home after a bit of rest. With the high pace of play, there should be solid opportunities for boards with the Grizzlies defense and I fully expect this line only to continue rising as the season progresses.
Jordan Poole Under 30.5 Pts + Ast + Reb (-115 ESPN Bet)
The Washington Wizards taketh and the Washington Wizards taketh away. Most of the time, I usually bet against Washington and their horrible defense rather than fading their own props. But this one calls for action. The Lakers defense has been climbing, ranking 13th in their last 10 games. The loss of Anthony Davis may have changed the numbers a bit but I'd still project Poole closer to 26 PAR after playing back-to-back games. His scoring has been down and I don't expect the Wizards' lowest-ranked offense to save him in the assist column exactly. Don't think about this one too hard. The Wizards are going to struggle and it's going to be based around Poole. It's quite the high line so you'll pay a little juice for it which I am more than happy to concede doing.
Jarrett Allen Over 23.5 Pts + Reb (-108 FanDuel)
You'll have to monitor this one as Cleveland may shuffle their roster for rest/load management as they play in their second consecutive game. If I had to guess, Mobley might be limited or out tonight. Obviously, that helps Jarrett Allen's playing time and usage and in turn – prop line. He's already covered this in half of his games and is projected closer to 27 on this combo prop. The Hawks have been the fastest-paced team in the league over the last month with a middle-of-the-pack defense. This is where I remind you to follow the lineup or injury announcements. If you're feeling risky and want to bet this before news of if anyone is sitting, I support it, because either way I expect Allen to cover the line, it's just a matter of CLV and bet value at that point.
