NBA Player Props Bets, Picks & Predictions: Thursday (11/21)

We've hit the ground running this NBA season and we're well on our way to a profitable year. Still, I shouldn't count my chickens before they hatch. The group play of the NBA Cup kicked off but we're back with a regular eight-game slate tonight. As always, monitor injury news and lineup announcements. The best way to stay sharp regarding NBA player props is by staying on top of the news. The second best way is to shop around at different books. Player props rarely have identical odds across platforms so make sure you're getting the best value. Let's get to it.

Thursday's Best NBA Player Prop Bets

Last Time: 3-3 | Season: 36-27 | (Odds courtesy of BetMGM)

Tobias Harris Over 15.5 Points + Assists (-125)

Detroit has been a pleasant surprise this season, not exactly turning heads at 7-9 but still a big step forward for the organization after such a dreadful season a year ago. Their offense hasn't been great but it's improving and Charlotte offers a good matchup. They rank in the bottom 10 in the league in defense and offer a slight pace-up spot for Detroit. Harris has been averaging nearly 14 points and 2.5 assists on the season and those numbers should increase tonight. Charlotte allows the third-most points to opposing power forwards and the seventh-most assists. I really don't get how this line is where it's at considering this is a plus matchup for Harris and Co. and you should feel comfortable riding his over.

Kyle Filipowski Under 17.5 Points + Assists + Rebounds (-130)

The Jazz rookie has started each of the last four games and is in line to again tonight but he hasn't exactly seen a big-minute boost to warrant such a line. He has played more but even Monday night in Los Angeles, Filipowski only scored three points with five boards and six assists, both latter stats around his season averages. San Antonio has upped their defense as a top-10 unit and slowed down their pace of play to the point where I would put this line closer to 15. His usage rate has actually gone down over the last four games as a starter which is only concerning for his involvement in getting to this combo prop which is why I am riding the Under here as Utah continues its road trip.

Jakob Poeltl Under 30.5 Points + Assists + Rebounds (-120)

Finally, we have the Toronto Raptors big man going under his PRA taking on the Timberwolves. Minnesota’s defense has taken a step back this year but it still ranks in the middle of the pack and continues to be a force down low with Rudy Gobert at the helm. Minnesota ranks in the bottom-10 in pace of play so opportunity here is the main concern for Poeltl who averages 17 points, 12 boards, and three assists on the season. Yes, he has had two monster games recently but that has caused this line to become over-inflated and now seems like a good time to sell high and take the Under.
