NBA Player Props & Bets: Thursday (2/5)
Welcome to another day of NBA prop betting as we hunker down for the cold after the holiday season, with the All-Star break approaching. As always, monitor any potential news and lineup announcements. The best way to stay informed about NBA player props is to stay up-to-date with the latest news. The second-best way is to shop around at different sportsbooks. Player props rarely have identical odds across platforms, so ensure you get the best value.
Today marks a solid eight-game slate as we have reached the trade deadline, so a lot of these props might move a bunch depending on what goes down. Either way, stay on top of the news to get your bets in before props shift to get solid closing line value. Anyways, let's get to the best bets of the day.
Unless specified otherwise, each bet will be for a single unit.

Thursday’s Best NBA Player Prop Bets
Last Time: 1-2 | This Season: 51-41
Cade Cunningham Over 28.5 Points + Rebounds (-120 at Hard Rock Bet)
I know Washington completely overhauled their team, but as of now, I'm sticking to the numbers we've seen over the course of the season. This is, after all, the Washington Wizards we're talking about. Washington has the second-worst defense in the league while ranking sixth in pace of play on the year.
In recent play, the numbers are similar. Cade Cunningham is dealing with a wrist issue, so monitor that situation, but all signs point to him being a full go, and I only expect this prop to continue creeping up over the course of the day. With the Pistons as 15-point favorites, they should be able to have their way on the court tonight.
Washington is a bottom-10 rebounding team. The Oklahoma State product should exceed his average of nearly six boards a night. This is one where the sportsbooks are behind a bit and giving Washington way too much credit on the road.
CJ McCollum Over 19.5 Points + Assists (-122 at FanDuel Sportsbook)
This is another prop that is behind on how bad a matchup the opponent is. If there is a team that is better to bet props against than the Wizards, it's the Utah Jazz. Defensively, Utah ranks dead last in any metric you can find - on the season and over their last 15 games. Both squads rank in the top five in pace of play, and CJ McCollum has been averaging nearly 19 points per game since coming to Atlanta.
Even coming off the bench, McCollum’s averages put him above this prop tonight. With the incredible plus-matchup, I'm surprised at the line. Zaccharie Risacher is back in the lineup, but that hasn't limited McCollum's minutes or usage much in the last two nights. Even if it does today, this is too good a home matchup to pass up taking the over on.
Dillon Brooks Under 26.5 Points + Assists (-125 at Hard Rock Bet)
Finally, I'm fading the man, the myth, the legend… one Dillon Brooks. Phoenix hosts Golden State. The Warriors have boasted a top-10 defense all year. The total is a measly 218 points, and the BettingPros Prop Bet Cheat Sheet projects the Suns forward closer to 19 on this combo prop.
There isn't a better tool out there than the cheat sheet, so if you aren't using it for all your betting needs, no matter the sport, you're missing out. Brooks’ usage has been shockingly high of late, which has inflated this line, but I fully expect him to come back down to Earth. This is the game for him to do so.
