NBA Player Props & Bets: Wednesday (12/17)

Welcome to another day of NBA prop betting as we hunker down in the cold this holiday season and move past the NBA Cup. We've been steady of late as we're green on the season and running hot. As always, monitor any potential news and lineup announcements. The best way to stay informed about NBA player props is to stay up-to-date with the latest news. The second-best way is to shop around at different sportsbooks. Player props rarely have identical odds across platforms, so ensure you get the best value. We only have two games today, which limits our options, but that has never been an issue before. Let's get to it.

Unless specified otherwise, each bet will be for a single unit.

Wednesday’s Best NBA Player Prop Bets

Last Time: 3-0 | This Season: 32-10

Jarrett Allen Over 24.5 Points + Assists + Rebounds (-106 at FanDuel Sportsbook)

If you look at his recent play, Jarrett Allen hasn't covered this line in six straight games. Not great, I know. But the line is way too low for this matchup against the Bulls, and it's time to buy the dip. Not only is Cleveland favored tonight, but the total is 243 points. Chicago might offer one of the friendliest matchups a team could ask for in the NBA.

On the season, the Bulls rank 24th defensively with the second-fastest pace of play. In their last 10 games, they rank similarly. Especially against opposing centers, the Bulls are weak, allowing the third-most combined points + assists + rebounds to opposing big men. I know I mentioned Allen’s last six games haven't been productive, but with no Evan Mobley and Allen finally healthy again, he's going to get plenty of additional run.

This line is too low based on history and not the current outlook. Feel free to bet some alts here because Allen can easily get to 30 on this combo prop with the number of possessions in this matchup.

Jaylen Wells Under 21.5 Points + Assists + Rebounds (-120 at Hard Rock Bet)

For another bet where I'm going against the grain, I'm taking Jaylen Well to go under 31.5 combined points + assists + rebounds, a line he's covered in three straight games. Which is why I'm selling high. Ja Morant is back and should be healthy for this one, which is a big assumption, so monitor any injury news related to Memphis. The Grizzlies are on the road here and their offense ranks in the bottom third of the league away from home.

Minnesota has also been one of the best defenses against opposing guards, limiting opposing backcourt options to the second-fewest combined points + assists + rebounds in the league. To go with it, the BettingPros Prop Bet Cheat Sheet projects Wells for 15 combined points + assists + rebounds, making it one of the most valuable plays projected on the slate. If you don't use the cheat sheet, you are behind on your betting, as it helps with all your gambling needs. For Wells, I'm surprised at how high this line is, despite recent play. The under is a clear bet here.
