NBA Playoffs Parlay Odds & Picks for Monday, May 9 (2022)

After a great weekend of high-level NBA basketball that saw two series get evened up at 2-2, we return tonight as the Celtics and Grizzlies look to do the same. In Milwaukee, the Bucks are slight home favorites, while on the other coast the Warriors are double-digit favorites as the Grizzlies will be without All-Star Ja Morant.

Let’s take a closer look at both games and see where the value remains.

Leg #1. Bucks -1 | -110 at DK Sportsbook

The Celtics will look to bounce back and quickly tonight from a Saturday performance that was a bit of a head-scratcher. Team leader Jayson Taytum was held to just 10 points on the afternoon, going 0 for 6 from 3-point range in the effort.

While the Celtics were poor offensively throughout the game, the third quarter defensively is where the game really got away from them, being outscored 34-17. After storming back late closing a 13-point gap with just within 10 minutes to play, Giannis Antetokounmpo scored the final of his game-high 42 points to close it out for the Bucks.

Speaking of those Bucks, still, without Khris Middleton (MCL), they did get a boost from the return of George Hill (abdomen), who contributed 11 minutes off the bench. Despite being held scoreless, Hill provided a veteran presence on both sides of the ball, giving the Celtics just one more thing to think about.

With a game under Hill’s belt heading into Game 4 tonight in Milwaukee, I look for him to be the added spark that gets the Bucks to their 3-1 lead. Still in search of their first win in Milwaukee this season, I don’t expect it to be tonight for the Celtics.

Leg #2. Grizzlies +10 | -110 at DK Sportsbook

In the eyes of many Grizz fans, I’m sure, things are now even. Following a Game 2 foul from Dillon Brooks that ended the postseason for Gary Payton II, Jordan Poole’s contact to Morant’s knee in Game 3 has now caused Morants’ likely absence in this one.

Consider “the code” shattered.

In their game 3 win, 142-112 was the final tally in favor of the Warriors, as Poole (27), Steph Curry (30), and Klay Thompson (21) all went for 20+ in an offensive showcase for the ages. The points explosion was a welcomed sight for a Warriors team who has averaged a pedestrian (for them) 111 points per game this season.

Even with Morant likely out for tonight’s pivotal Game 4, the Grizz should receive a spark in the form of Brooks who returns tonight and is guaranteed to be on a mission, also while well-rested. While I do expect the Warriors to pull away late, I like Memphis to have enough dog in them to keep this one close in what should be a very physical game once again.
