The Detroit Pistons battle the New York Knicks tonight, while the Denver Nuggets will host the Los Angeles Clippers, as the NBA playoffs continue.
Will Cade Cunningham shoot better tonight than on Saturday, as his team looks to even the series? Will Jalen Brunson drop 30 points on the Pistons for the fifth time this season? Will Ivica Zubac be able to grab at least 13 rebounds for the second game in a row against the Nuggets?
Here are the three best NBA player props for Monday, April 21st.
Monday’s Best NBA Player Prop Bets
This Season: 56-68 (-7.70 units) | Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook
Cade Cunningham Over 1.5 Made Three-Pointers (-120)
In Game 1 of the best-of-seven series against the Knicks, Cade Cunningham went just 1-for-4 from beyond the arc. The performance marked only the second time since March 19th he made fewer than two threes in a single game. The game was also the first time Cunningham failed to hit at least two threes against the Knicks this season. He was 13-of-25 from deep against them before Saturday.
I expect a big bounce-back game from Cunningham, as he attempts to lead his Pistons to victory and even up this series. He averaged 2.1 made threes per game during the regular season. Though he shot poorly from deep in Game 1, his teammates were great, as the Pistons shot 46.9% from deep. He will put up more attempts tonight and top this number like he's already done four times against the Knicks.
Jalen Brunson 30+ Points (+105)
In the Knicks' Game 1 win, Jalen Brunson dropped 34 points. It was his fourth 30-point game against the Pistons this season. The only time he failed to score 30, he managed just 15 points, but he also only played 29 minutes in that game, and he attempted just 15 shots. On Saturday, he played 40 minutes and put up 27 field goal attempts, which is likely to be the norm for the Knicks' leading scorer throughout the postseason.
Brunson averaged 26 points per game during the regular season, so it's not surprising to see the price for this prop set at +105. However, that average is the only thing preventing Brunson's total from being set at 29.5 tonight. He didn't score over 30 in any of his four other games in April, but this is a great matchup for him. He's scored at least 30 in three of his last eight games.
Ivica Zubac Under 12.5 Rebounds (-105)
When looking at the box score for Game 1 of this series, it's important to remember the game went to overtime and 26 points were scored. Those additional five minutes allowed a lot of players to hit overs they were on pace to miss if the game ended in regulation. Ivica Zubac was one of those performers.
Zubac ended Saturday's game with 13 rebounds, just barely topping this number despite staying out of foul trouble and playing 39 minutes. He's now pulled down at least 13 boards in three of his last five games. He hasn't grabbed fewer than 10 boards since March 14th. However, he has two single-digit rebounding games against the Nuggets this season. As long as this game finishes in regulation, I'm expecting him to struggle on the defensive glass, just like he did in Game 1.
