Friday’s Best NBA Preseason Picks & Predictions

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Boston Celtics (+164) at Philadelphia 76ers (-198) | O/U 225.5 (-110/-110)

These two teams already played each other less than a week ago. The Celtics won in a blowout, 144-106.

Thus, 59% of bets have been placed on the Celtics to cover the +4.5 spread, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. But I believe this game, which will be on NBA TV, will go differently.

The Celtics are 3-0 this preseason, and I don't expect them to finish these exhibition contests with a perfect record. Plus, this game is in Philadelphia while the last one was in Boston, so I'm going with the home team.

Picks: 76ers -4.5 (-115) & Under 225.5 Points (-110)

Minnesota Timberwolves (-125) at Chicago Bulls (+105) | O/U 234.5 (-108/-112)

The Timberwolves have been fun to watch this preseason. Anthony Edwards has led the Timberwolves in scoring in each of the four games he's played, averaging 19.8 points per game while making 44% of his three-pointers.

The Timberwolves have also won two of their last three preseason games while the Bulls have dropped two of their last three. Regardless of how much Edwards plays, I like Minnesota's bench to close out the preseason with another victory.

Picks: Timberwolves -2.5 (-105) & Under 234.5 Points (-112)

Denver Nuggets (+180) at Los Angeles Lakers (-218) | O/U 231.5 (-115/-105)

We'll have a chance to watch this game between two Western Conference opponents on ESPN, the very last game of the preseason, which tips off at 10:30 p.m. ET on Friday.

The Lakers are 5.5-point favorites at home, and 62% of bets have been placed on them to win outright. And I think I agree with the public here.

With the regular season so close, I would go with the home team either way here. So I'll pick the Lakers.

Picks: Lakers Moneyline (-218) & Over 231.5 Points (-115)
