NBA Preseason Picks & Predictions: Saturday (10/10)
We've got plenty of NBA preseason action on tap this weekend. And that begins with seven games today. There’s even one game on ESPN2 between two Western Conference teams: the San Antonio Spurs and the Phoenix Suns. Here are my best NBA preseason picks for today's slate.

Saturday’s Best NBA Preseason Picks & Predictions
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Minnesota Timberwolves (-122) at Miami Heat (+102) | O/U 234.5 (-110/-110)
With Bam Adebayo and Giannis Antetokounmpo, it's easy to think the Heat will be a dominant force in the Eastern Conference and that they'll win at home here as they try to get Antetokounmpo acclimated to his new team.
But you know who's already adjusted to his new team? LaMelo Ball. In just two preseason games, we've already seen that the Ball-Anthony Edwards connection will work and that their presence will create plenty of offensive opportunities for both of them.
I think the Timberwolves will win and cover, but my favorite pick is the over. The Timberwolves do have Rudy Gobert, but I don't think Minnesota's other frontcourt players can slow down Adebayo or Antetokounmpo. I'm expecting plenty of points to be scored early when the stars are out.
Picks: Timberwolves -1.5 (-122) & Over 234.5 Points (-110)
Philadelphia 76ers (+164) at Boston Celtics (-198) | O/U 223.5 (-110/-110)
This is a (preseason) revenge game for multiple players. The 76ers acquired Jaylen Brown from the Celtics this offseason and, in exchange, sent Paul George to Boston. Considering George missed the Celtics' last preseason game, we'll have to see if he's available.
Either way, I'm expecting the 76ers to win this contest, which will be on NBA TV. With LeBron James and Brown in the mix, I think the 76ers' preseason games are an important time for them to coalesce around Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid going into the regular season. And with more minutes together, I believe they'll play better collectively here than they have in the last couple of preseason games.
Picks: 76ers Moneyline (+164) & Jaylen Brown 20+ Points (-104)
San Antonio Spurs (-225) at Phoenix Suns (+185) | O/U 222.5 (-110/-110)
It looks like we'll get to see a couple of stars face off on ESPN2: Victor Wembanyama for the Spurs and Devin Booker for the Suns. The Spurs are 6.5-point favorites with 79% of bets being placed on the San Antonio Moneyline, per DraftKings Sportsbook.
I'm going with the Suns to cover and win. The Suns are 0-2 this preseason, but those games have been decided by a collective nine points. Phoenix (starters and bench players) will put together a full game and win its first home preseason game.
Picks: Suns +6.5 (-108) & Moneyline (+185)
