NBA PrizePicks Player Predictions: Tuesday
This Season: 1-2
Mike Conley Over 1.5 Three-Pointers Made
Conley has made two three-pointers in back-to-back games after not making any in the season-opener against the Los Angeles Lakers. Tonight, he takes on a tough Mavericks defense, but he should be able to knock down at least two three-pointers again.
The Mavericks allow opponents to make just 12.0 three-pointers per game this season. Last season, they allowed just 12.9 per game, and yet, Conley knocked down at least two shots from beyond the arc in all four of his regular-season games against them. In the postseason, when the defense turned it up a notch, Conley still managed to hit this Over in two of his five games. Finally, he averaged 2.4 three-pointers per contest last season. Everything points to his Over tonight.
Zion Williamson Under 33.5 Points + Assists + Rebounds
Through two games, Williamson is averaging 15.0 points, 5.5 assists, and 7.0 rebounds per game. That gives him a combined average of just 27.5 so far. Though it will be nice for him to take on a team other than the Trail Blazers, the Warriors have played very good defense to start the season. They allow just 100 points per game, holding opponents to 22.0 assists per contest.
Williamson has yet to score 20 points after averaging 22.9 one year ago. But in three games against the Warriors last season, he scored 20 only once. Even in that game, when he scored 26 points, he combined for only 32 PAR. He never topped this number against the Warriors last year, and with how the Warriors' defense is playing thus far, there's no reason to expect him to tonight.
Nikola Jokic Over 12.5 Rebounds
Last season, Jokic averaged 12.4 rebounds per game. This season, he's yet to pull down more than 12 rebounds in a game. Tonight, he takes on a Nets team that is allowing 53.3 rebounds per contest.
In two games against the Nets last season, Jokic pulled down 25 rebounds. His high against the team was 14. The Nets allowed an average of 52.3 rebounds per game last season, so it doesn't seem like they’ve improved at all heading into this season. Because of that, Jokic's floor in this game is essentially 10. Considering his ceiling is unlimited, take him to go Over his season average from a season ago finally.
