Atlanta Hawks at Orlando Magic
- Leg 1: Magic To Cover Spread Both Halves -2.5 (+390)
- Leg 2: Under 224.5 Total Combined Points (-110)
The Orlando Magic and Atlanta Hawks are separated by one game for the rights to call the seventh seed their own come playoff time. Both teams have had it rough this season, as injuries and trades altered the best-laid plans for both organizations.
Orlando comes into this contest having won seven of their last 10 contests, while Atlanta has split their wins and losses over that span. The Magic have also won seven of their previous 10 games played at home. Orlando is allowing 109.6 points when playing on their home floor, while opponents are only shooting 45.1% from the floor.
These two teams have split their previous matchups this season. However, Atlanta is coming off three straight losses before beating the Utah Jazz. Whereas Orlando heads into this contest having won two straight games.
The Magic own the third-lowest defensive rating in the first half over the last five games and are conceding the least amount of points per half with 48.0 each contest. Orlando is averaging over 55 points in the first half of their previous five contests. We expect a close, contested battle, yet one that Orlando should have control of in both halves.
Atlanta has been an absolute scoring force as of late, and that cannot be understated. Having said that, the Magic defense has been too daunting to take the over on the 225 suggested total. These two teams have failed to exceed 225 points in the last five games played. Considering this should have a playoff atmosphere, we expect scoring to be somewhat limited in this contest.
Albeit a smaller parlay, the payout may be too enticing to pass up given the circumstances. The last week of the season can be extremely unpredictable, but this parlay seems like a solid way to maximize profit with fewer selections.
Parlay Odds: +675
Minnesota Timberwolves at Milwaukee Bucks
- Leg 1: Timberwolves Moneyline (-192)
- Leg 2: Mike Conley Under 12.5 Points + Assists (-120)
- Leg 3: Jaden McDaniels Under 16.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-115)
The Timberwolves have been successful in seven of their previous 10 games played. Minnesota has also found success when playing on the road as of late, winning six of their last seven contests when away from their home court.
Milwaukee has won their last four games but has also lost the previous four in a row before that. The Bucks have lost in three of their last four games at home, and are allowing over 128 points per game when playing on their home court.
Mike Conley has not surpassed 12.5 points + assists in the previous two contests, and he has played more than 25 minutes over that span. The veteran guard is shooting a horrific 32% from the field on eight attempts over the last three contests. Conley is only averaging 25 minutes this season, and only 24 in the month of March. If the Minnesota guard is not on the floor, and not shooting much when he is out there, it's tough to confidently back the over on the 12.5 total.
Jaden McDaniels has seriously taken a step back after a fantastic string of games where he averaged over 15 points, six boards, and just under three assists for about two months. Over the last eight games, those numbers have plummeted to 8.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists, while only averaging 28.8 minutes on the floor. McDaniels is shooting 40% from the field, and 29.4% from beyond the arc in the previous eight contests.
NBA Parlay Odds: +480
Los Angeles Lakers at Oklahoma City Thunder
- Leg 1: OKC Thunder to Win Both Halves (-125)
- Leg 2: OKC Thunder Over 120.5 Total Team Points (-112)
- Leg 3: OKC Thunder Race To 20 Points – First Quarter (-280)
After losing to Los Angeles on Sunday, we are expecting a bounce-back to form for the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder have won eight of their previous ten contests and eight of the last 10 games played at home.
Oklahoma City owns the highest percentage in wins when playing at home as the favorite- covering 85% of the time. The Thunder have won in 85.7% of the contests after losing in the previous game. OKC has now lost two games in a row but has not lost three straight all season.
The Thunder are averaging 122.9 points over their last 10 games on 49% shooting from the field, and 43.4% from beyond the arc. OKC has scored at least 121 points in 12 of their last 20 contests. The Thunder are scoring 125.5 over the last 10 games when playing on their home floor, and have exceeded 120.5 points in seven of those contests.
Over the last 10 games, Oklahoma City is putting up over 32 points in the first quarter, while only allowing 27.7 points to the opposition. The Thunder are shooting an efficient 53.5% from the field in the first quarter, whereas their opponents are only knocking 42.7% of their attempts. We expect OKC to get out early in this contest, and be the first to reach 20 points.
