NBA Same Game Parlays & Picks: Wednesday (5/6)
Tonight, the Philadelphia 76ers and the San Antonio Spurs will try to even up their second-round series against the New York Knicks and Minnesota Timberwolves. Below, I highlight why I expect Joel Embiid to score plenty, despite having little faith in the 76ers' offense. Then, I explain why the Spurs are going to dominate the Timberwolves from start to finish. Here are the best NBA same game parlays for Tuesday, May 6.

(Odds courted of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Philadelphia 76ers vs. New York Knicks
- Leg 1: 76ers Under 103.5 Team Points (-102)
- Leg 2: Joel Embiid Over 26.5 Points (-112)
- Leg 3: Jalen Brunson Over 3.5 Made 3-Pointers (-108)
The Knicks defense has been excellent in the postseason. They're allowing just 100 points per game, and they haven't given up more than 98 in any of their last four contests. The Knicks held the 76ers to just 98 points in Game 1, and they smothered them in their final meeting of the regular season, holding them to 89. And with the 76ers having scored 100 or fewer points in four of their eight playoff games, I'll back the Knicks to hold them below 103.5 for a great price.
Though I expect the 76ers to struggle offensively, I believe that Embiid is going to have a solid Game 2. In Game 1, he managed just 14 points on 3-of-11 shooting. He also only played 25 minutes.
The reason I have so much faith in him is that he played a lot of minutes against the Boston Celtics in the first round. In his four games, he never played fewer than 34 minutes, reaching 39 minutes twice. He made the most of his playing time, scoring at least 26 in three of the four games, and topping 30 twice. It's also worth mentioning that Embiid has scored at least 26 in 22 of his last 28 games. With a floor that high, how do you not back him after a rough performance?
Jalen Brunson has had two terrible 3-point shooting nights in the postseason, but both of those performances came on the road. In those two games against the Hawks, he went a combined 1-of-11 from deep. However, in his other five games, he's made 16-of-32 attempts from beyond the arc, knocking down at least three in each of those five contests. In Game 1 against the 76ers, he was 3-of-6 from deep. Although he only made more than two 3-pointers in one of his regular-season games against the 76ers, he's shot at least 50% from deep in four of his five games against them this season.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. San Antonio Spurs
- Leg 1: Spurs -9.5 (-110)
- Leg 2: Victor Wembanyama Under 26.5 Points (-114)
- Leg 3: De'Aaron Fox Over 6.5 Assists (+143)
The Timberwolves pulled off the shocking upset in Game 1, but the status of Anthony Edwards has me backing the Spurs in this contest. Though he played in Game 1, there's no guarantee that he will take the court in Game 2. And if he does, I'm expecting his minutes to be limited again. This is a player who averaged 28.8 points per game in the regular season, and yet he scored just 18 in 25 minutes in Game 1. While the Timberwolves found a way to win the game, the Spurs already beat the Timberwolves earlier this season when Edwards scored 55. Plus, I like the Spurs coming off a loss. Every loss since the start of February has been followed by a win of at least 10 points.
The NBA Playoffs haven't been kind to Victor Wembanyama so far. While he scored 35 in his first game of this postseason, he's scored 17 or fewer in three of his other four games. Of course, one of those performances came in just 12 minutes due to an injury, but in Game 1 of this series, he scored just 11 points in 40 minutes.
Wembanyama was 0-of-8 from 3-point range in that game, and while I expect him to shoot better from deep, the Timberwolves are holding teams to just 30.6% from deep this postseason. They also held opponents to 35.5% from deep during the regular season. Wembanyama averaged 25.0 points per game in the regular season, and with how the Timberwolves shut him down in Game 1, I'm not backing him to surpass his season average in this matchup.
Despite how poorly the Spurs’ offense played in Game 1, De'Aaron Fox still managed to dish out six assists. He now has at least six assists in five of his six postseason games, and he's reached at least seven three times. Fox averaged 6.2 assists per game during the regular season, and considering he already has a 12-assist game against the Timberwolves this season, I'll back him for an excellent price in a game that I think the Spurs are going to dominate.
