NBA Same Game Parlays & Picks: Wednesday (4/8)

The Atlanta Hawks and Cleveland Cavaliers meet tonight, and I'm expecting Nickeil Alexander-Walker and the Hawks to score plenty in the contest. However, I also have my eye on Evan Mobley against a weak rebounding team. Then, I highlight how the San Antonio Spurs and Portland Trail Blazers can still score plenty of points, even without Shaedon Sharpe and Victor Wembanyama on the court tonight. Here are the best NBA same-game parlays (SGP) for Wednesday, April 8th.

Hawks vs. Cavaliers Same Game Parlay

Leg #1: Hawks Over 117.5 Points (-111)

With Donovan Mitchell's status up in the air, I'm not sure what to make of the Cavaliers tonight. If Mitchell plays, I'd probably back the Cavaliers to win, but if he doesn't, I could see the Hawks winning rather easily while the defense keeps Cleveland in check.

Yet, whether Mitchell plays or not, the Hawks’ offense will reach its season average of 118.4 points tonight. The Hawks have scored at least 122 points in 14 of their last 19 games. The last time they faced the Cavaliers, the Hawks scored 130 points, and they enter this game mostly healthy.

Leg #2: Nickeil Alexander-Walker Over 3.5 Made Three-Pointers (+118)

Nickeil Alexander-Walker is averaging 3.2 made three-pointers per game, and he's red-hot entering this contest. He's made at least four threes in three consecutive games, shooting at least 44.4% from deep in each of those contests. In his most recent game, he went 7-of-11 from beyond the arc against the New York Knicks.

Tonight, Alexander-Walker takes on a Cavaliers' defense ranked 27th in the league in three-pointers allowed per game, giving up an average of 14.1 per contest.

Leg #3: Evan Mobley Over 9.5 Rebounds (+114)

Evan Mobley leads the Cavaliers with 8.9 rebounds per game. While he only grabbed six in his last game, he's pulled down at least 10 boards in three of his last five contests. He averaged 9.8 rebounds per game in March.

The first time Mobley faced the Hawks, he recorded eight rebounds. In his most recent game against Atlanta, he pulled down 14 boards. I expect the second performance to be more indicative of what happens tonight, as the Hawks rank 22nd in rebounds allowed per game, giving up 45.3 per contest.

Parlay Odds: +675

Trail Blazers vs. Spurs Same Game Parlay

Leg #1: Over 229.5 Points (-112)

The total for this game opened at 236.5 but has dropped significantly since, now settling at 229.5. With both teams averaging over 115 points per game, I'm a little surprised the total has dropped so much. The only thing I can think of is that the public is too focused on the first two meetings between these two, where neither team scored more than 115, and the highest total posted was 225.

But the Spurs have scored at least 123 points in seven of their last nine games. And while their defense has been great, the Spurs have still allowed at least 111 points five times during that same span. The Trail Blazers will likely be without Shaedon Sharpe, but he hasn't played in over two months, and Portland's offense still managed 132 points against the Denver Nuggets on Monday.

Leg #2: Deni Avdija Under 6.5 Assists (-105)

Deni Avdija is averaging 6.7 assists per game, and he's recorded at least seven in three consecutive games. However, the Spurs are allowing just 26.2 assists per contest, which ranks 11th in the league.

While Avdija has at least eight assists in each of his last two games against the Spurs, these two teams haven't met since January 3rd. The Spurs didn't start to play like the team they currently are until February, which is why I think Avdija is in for a rough night against a great defense tonight.

Leg #3: De'Aaron Fox Over 20.5 Points (-111)

De’Aaron Fox has been struggling over the last few weeks. He's scored fewer than 15 points in seven of his last eight games, though he did manage 22 against the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday.

However, I expect this to be a high-scoring game because of how much the Trail Blazers' defense has struggled at times this season. And with Victor Wembanyama likely out, Fox is the Spurs’ leading scorer, averaging 18.4 points per game.

Fox has scored at least 19 points in both games against the Trail Blazers, and he dropped 37 against them in the first month of the season. This is a perfect matchup for him to break out of his funk.

Parlay Odds: +575
