NBA Same Game Parlays & Picks: Wendesday (3/25)
The Detroit Pistons and Duncan Robinson will look to shoot their way past the Atlanta Hawks without Cade Cunningham. While Robinson is in for a big night, I'm expecting a low-scoring game thanks to the Pistons' solid defensive play. Then, I highlight why the Houston Rockets have an advantage over the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight, despite the Timberwolves playing well without their leading scorer, Anthony Edwards.

Wednesday's Best NBA Same Game Parlays
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Atlanta Hawks vs. Detroit Pistons
- Leg #1: Under 228.5 Total Points (-112)
- Leg #2: Duncan Robinson 4+ Made 3-Pointers (+181)
- Leg #3: Dyson Daniels Under 4.5 Assists (-117)
After opening at 226.5, this total has increased to 228.5, and I don't understand why. Cade Cunningham is going to miss this game, and Hawks' leading scorer Jalen Johnson is questionable. The last game between these two teams finished with 257 points, but that game was all the way back in mid-December. Plus, in the meeting before that one, neither team scored 100. The Pistons have the third-best scoring defense, and with their top scorer out, I expect this to be a defensive game.
Robinson leads the Pistons with 2.8 made 3-pointers per game. He's shooting 40.1% from deep, and he's made at least four 3-pointers in two of his last three games. Robinson has faced the Hawks twice this season, and he shot 5-of-10 from the floor and 4-of-9 from deep in both games. The Hawks are average at defending the 3-point line, but without Cunningham, I expect Robinson to attempt even more threes than usual, continuing his hot shooting against Atlanta.
Daniels is averaging 5.9 assists per game, which is second on the Hawks and 23rd in the NBA. Johnson leads Atlanta in assists, but his status is up in the air after missing the last couple of games. While all of these factors should increase my confidence in Daniels, I don't like the way he's been playing. Daniels has four or fewer assists in seven of his last nine games, and he's averaging just 4.6 per contest this month. Additionally, the Pistons are allowing the fewest assists per game this season.

Houston Rockets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
- Leg #1: Rockets -1.5 (-110)
- Leg #2: Naz Reid Under 12.5 Points (-113)
- Leg #3: Alperen Sengun 12+ Rebounds (+271)
Anthony Edwards has missed the Timberwolves' last four games, but Minnesota has managed to go 3-1 during that span. However, the Rockets are one of the best defensive teams in the league, allowing just 110.2 points per game, and I believe they will shut down the short-handed Timberwolves. After all, when these teams played earlier this season, the Timberwolves were also without Edwards. They scored just 105 points, with 64 of those coming from Julius Randle and Naz Reid. Someone else will need to step up for the Timberwolves to have a chance in this game, and against this defense, I don't see three players having great games.
Naz Reid shot 8-of-11 from the floor and 5-of-7 from deep in his first game against the Rockets. However, Reid is shooting just 46.7% from the field, and he's averaging only 2.2 made 3-pointers per contest. Reid is averaging 13.7 points per game, but he enters this contest scoring 12 or fewer in four consecutive games. He's also failed to make more than one 3-pointer in 11 consecutive games. Considering the Rockets are allowing the sixth-fewest 3-pointers per game, Reid's struggles won't end tonight.
To elevate these parlay odds, I'm taking a bit of a shot on Sengun. He's averaging 9.0 rebounds per game, but he's pulled down at least 12 in back-to-back contests. In his one game against the Timberwolves this season, he grabbed 14 rebounds in 32 minutes. For as good as the Timberwolves have been on the glass, they struggle when it comes to allowing offensive rebounds, giving up 11.6 per game. Sengun grabbed four offensive boards against them earlier this season, and he has the 10th-most offensive rebounds in the league this season.
Parlay Odds: +900
