Oklahoma City Thunder (-270) at Atlanta Hawks (+220) | O/U 235.5 (-112/-108)
The Thunder (2-0) travel to meet the Hawks (1-1) at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, and, again, this game can be viewed on NBA TV.
Oklahoma City swept the regular-season series in 2024-25, winning 135-119 in Atlanta as a 10.5-point favorite on Feb. 28 while the Over (246.5) cashed. In fact, the Over is a common theme in this series, hitting in each of the past five meetings, while going 7-1 in the previous eight installments dating back to Nov. 22, 2021.
The defending champion Thunder have played, and won, a pair of double-overtime games to start the new season. And, it is 0-2 against the spread (ATS) in those two games, and the Over has cashed in each game, as you would expect.
Atlanta has two games under its belt, with mixed results so far. It was pounded 138-118 by the visiting Toronto Raptors on Wednesday as a 5.5-point favorite, while winning outright 111-107 at Orlando as a 6-point underdog as the Under (235.5) cashed on Friday night.
The Rockets head into this game with a day of rest in between outings, so that’s good news. The Hawks are playing on no rest. While the season is young, that’s still a tough turnaround to play on the road, travel, and play the next night, even at home, on no rest. It’s doubly tough when facing the defending champs, too.
OKC saw Shai Gilgeous-Alexander roll up 55 points with eight rebounds, five assists and two steals with a blocked shot in the victory over Indiana, while Ajay Mitchell posted 26 points off the bench. Aaron Wiggins was good for 23 points, too, while Chet Holmgren had a double-double with 15 points, 12 rebounds and two steals, but he was 4-of-12 from the field, and 0-for-6 from distance.
First off, we’re going to go Over. Atlanta has split the total 1-1 in two games, while OKC has cashed high in each of its games to date thanks to the extra sessions. Additionally, let’s roll with Atlanta catching the points, since OKC has been unable to win in regulation so far.
For a player prop, to push us over the +400 mark for our SGP, let’s take Holmgren Under 19.5 Points. He is nursing a sore back, and if he is able to play, he is likely to be affected and off of his game.
Parlay Odds: +546
Phoenix Suns (+500) at Denver Nuggets (-700) | O/U 234.5 (-108/-112)
- Leg 1: Suns +13.5 (-112)
- Leg 2: Over 234.5 (-108)
- Leg 3: Nikola Jokic Over 49.5 – Pts+Rebs+Asts (-118)
The Suns (1-1) and the Nuggets (0-1) meet at 9 p.m. ET at Ball Arena in Denver. Denver won last season’s series 3-1, but the teams split 2-2 against the spread (ATS). In the two meetings in Denver, the Nuggets won both games, but the Suns covered as 9-point underdogs in a 149-141 OT loss on March 7 while the Over (243) obviously cashed.
Phoenix won 120-116 in the opener against the Sacramento Kings as a 4-point favorite, pushing at most shops, while the Over (228) cashed. It followed that up with a 129-102 stinker against the LA Clippers at Crypto.com Arena as a 10-point ‘dog, again as the Over (223.5) cashed.
For the Nuggets, it was on the short end of a 137-131 OT loss as 2-point ‘dogs while the Over (232.5) cashed in the opener in San Francisco on Thursday night. Aaron Gordon registered 50 points with eight rebounds on an extremely efficient 17-of-21 from the field, while Jamal Murray, a.k.a. “The Blue Arrow”, had 26 points with 10 assists and three steals.
Let’s take the Suns catching the double-digit point total, and we’ll go Over in the points. It’s always fun to bet a player combo, too, and what better player to use than Nikola Jokic. The magic number is 50 for points + rebounds + assists. Take the biggest star in the game, and have fun while he’s racking up the counting stats.
Parlay Odds: +445
