NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (3/22)
Welcome to Sleeper Picks! Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight's NBA action. Similar to fantasy sports, the goal in Sleeper Picks is to draft a team of players based on who you think will perform better than the field. But with Sleeper Picks, you pick teams of 2-8 players from multiple teams based on your preferences and predict whether those players will score more or less than a predetermined amount. There are a number of ways to play and a variety of strategies to employ, and we’ll guide you through the process each week.

NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (3/22/24)
Season record: 180-112
Cade Cunningham (G – DET): OVER 4.5 1st quarter points
Cade continues to start hot for the Detroit Pistons, scoring six or more first quarter points in seven of his last nine games. Both of the games he failed to score six or more first quarter points in came against a Miami Heat team he had seen three times in 12 days. Cade will be leaned on again tonight against the hottest team in the Eastern Conference, the Boston Celtics. The Pistons have little chance of winning this game against the best the East has to offer, but if they are going to keep it respectable, Cade is going to have to help push the Pistons to a strong start. Take advantage of this 4.5 line while it is available, as another strong first quarter or two is likely to push the number back up to 5.5. Clap the More on Cade for Friday night basketball.
Victor Wembanyama (C – SAS): OVER 2.5 1st quarter rebounds
Wemby is a weird one. Yes, he is a unicorn, but he is still maddeningly inconsistent on the glass. Case in point: zero first quarter rebounds against the Dallas Mavericks. Still, with this number set at just 2.5, we will be chasing this total again. Wemby has recorded three or more first quarter rebounds in 11 of his 12 games, grabbing exactly three in five of them. There is minimal margin for error here for a player who hasn’t yet found a way to flip his aggression switch at will, but trends and being 7'4" keep the probability on the More. Work with the More on Wemby for Friday night.
Tyrese Maxey (G – PHI): OVER 9.5 1st quarter points
9.5 is higher than I was hoping for, but I'll be honest: I was taking this total as long as the number was under 10. Maxey has been on fire to open games for the Philadelphia 76ers, scoring 10 or more points in six of his last eight games. The injury layoff did not slow him down, as he has scored 10 or more in four of his last five since he returned to the court. Maxey should make a concentrated effort to have another hot start tonight against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers; only efficiency should be able to stop him from hitting at least 10 points in the first. Mash the More on Maxey for Friday night.
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
