NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (4/2)
Welcome to Sleeper Picks! Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight's NBA action. Similar to fantasy sports, the goal in Sleeper Picks is to draft a team of players based on who you think will perform better than the field. But with Sleeper Picks, you pick teams of 2-8 players from multiple teams based on your preferences and predict whether those players will score more or less than a predetermined amount. There are a number of ways to play and a variety of strategies to employ, and we’ll guide you through the process each week.

NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (4/2/24)
Season record: 191-121
Donovan Mitchell (G – CLE): OVER 4.5 1st quarter points
Mitchell continues to be a tone-setter for the Cleveland Cavaliers, scoring five or more first quarter points in each of his past four games and in 10 of his last 13. There is a concerning lack of field goal volume, but Mitchell is adept enough at getting to the line that he is hitting five or more points with just three first quarter shots. Donovan should continue to have a high usage rate tonight and should be looking for an explosive start against his former team. Mitchell has averaged 34.5 points per game against his former franchise. Mash the More on Mitchell for Tuesday night.
Jalen Green (G – HOU): UNDER 7.5 1st quarter points
I waited all night for the Jalen Green total to be posted, as it should have been placed somewhere in the 4.5 to 5.5 range based on his recent play. He is still jacking up first quarter shots but managed no more than four points in any of his past four games. He was on a tear prior to that, scoring eight or more first quarter points in five straight, so a 4.5 or 5.5 would have been a value. Not so much at 7.5. The value here, based on his recent play, lies squarely with the Less tonight, even if it's highly likely that Green has another high-volume first quarter. Jab the Less on Jalen for Tuesday night basketball.
Michael Porter Jr. (F – DEN): OVER 4.5 1st quarter points
MPJ continues to start hot for the Denver Nuggets, scoring five or more first quarter points in 15 of his last 16 games and in 20 of his last 22. Porter Jr. had six points in the first quarter against this same San Antonio Spurs team two weeks ago. Mash the More on MPJ for Tuesday night.
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
