NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (5/6/25)
Regular season record: 227-68
Playoff record: 19-5
Donovan Mitchell (G – CLE): OVER 3.5 assists (alt line)
Cleveland fell to Indiana in Game 1 in what turned out to be an entertaining game of basketball. No one expected this to be much of a series, but one game and some injury concerns later, and Indiana has a legitimate shot to topple the top seed in the East. Mitchell has to be a facilitator, given his usage rate, but this takes on added importance with Darius Garland (toe) sidelined and Evan Mobley (ankle) and DeAndre Hunter (thumb) dealing with their own injury issues. Donovan has recorded four or more assists in four of his five playoff games. Dap the More on Donovan for Tuesday night basketball.
Tyrese Haliburton (G – IND): OVER 7.5 assists (alt line)
The Indiana Pacers will look to steal another game in Cleveland on Tuesday night after pulling off the 121-112 upset on Sunday. Haliburton will need to play a key role as both a scorer and contributor to help the Pacers win, but he remains a classic pass first point guard, and that is not going to change even if he is looking for his shot more. Tyrese has been locked in during the playoffs, dishing out nine or more assists in all six games played. Tap the More on Tyrese for Tuesday night at Sleeper Picks.
Anthony Edwards (G – MIN): OVER 3.5 assists (alt line)
Ant-Man will need to be at his best tonight as the Minnesota Timberwolves take on the Golden State Warriors in Game 1 of the NBA Western Conference semifinals. There was debate here whether to tackle the points or assists alt line, but we decided to roll with probability on the 3.5 assist total. Edwards has handed out six or more assists in five of his games played. Ant-Man has an excellent opportunity to record at least four assists tonight. Light up the More on Edwards for Tuesday night's NBA action.
Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
