Oklahoma City Thunder vs Orlando Magic

The Thunder was not too impressive in Utah. However, they have been getting the job done in Vegas, first with a 90-81 win over Brooklyn and then with a dominant performance against Indiana on Saturday, 104-85. Ajay Mitchell led the way against the Nets with 20, followed by Chris Youngblood with 19.

Against the Pacers, it was Chris Youngblood who led the charge with 21 points, followed by Brooks Barnhizer with 17 points. Ajay Mitchell had 13.

Orlando has not played nearly as well. They dropped their Vegas opener to Sacramento, 84-81, and followed that game with another loss, 89-86 to Toronto. A slow start against the Kings put them in a hole they couldn't get out of. Against Toronto, it was a terrible second quarter that did the most damage.

Our Pick: Thunder -4

Oklahoma is playing solid, disciplined ball on both ends of the court. Orlando-well, Orlando is not. Their defense is not bad, but they don't have much of an offense to speak of. If OKC continues to play as disciplined as they have been, the Thunder should win this by double digits.

Portland Trail Blazers vs. New Orleans Pelicans

New Orleans is still looking for its first win in Vegas. They got to open the event against Minnesota but fell to the Timberwolves 98-91. But they were not as competitive in their second matchup, a 94-81 loss to the Lakers. Portland, on the other hand, had a great start, beating the Golden State Warriors 106-73 in their Vegas opener. But they came back down to Earth against Memphis in their second game, losing 96-86.

New Orleans hasn't shown much consistency on offense, with six players scoring double digits vs. Minnesota, but then only three did so against the Lakers. Antonio Reevers had 20 against Minnesota but followed that with nine against the Lakers. As for Portland, the dominant win over the Warriors in the opener may be as much a product of facing a bad Golden State team as solid play on the Trail Blazers’ part.

Our Pick: Pelicans -3.5

The version of the Trail Blazers we saw against Memphis is probably what we'll see in this game. New Orleans has been playing well, just not well enough. However, I think they can take a step forward against Portland and secure a win.

Golden State Warriors vs. Memphis Grizzlies

Memphis went 1-2 in Utah before coming to Vegas; Golden State did the same, but in the California Classic. Both teams have gotten off to 1-1 starts in Vegas. Memphis opened with a 92-78 loss to Boston but then bounced back with a ten-point win over Portland (96-86). The Golden State Warriors were crushed in their opener against Portland (106-73), but then put in a much better effort on display in a 103-93 win over Utah.

Our Pick: UNDER 185.5

I don’t have a lot of confidence in either roster. Memphis has the more talented roster, but I wouldn't trust it to cover the spread, and there is no value in the moneyline for this game. However, Memphis can play decent enough defense to hold Golden State to the mid-80s. The Grizzlies don't have the firepower to make up the difference.
