Tuesday’s Best NBA Summer League Picks & Predictions: Hawks vs. Grizzlies
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Atlanta Hawks (+140) at Memphis Grizzlies (-166) | O/U 179.5 (-110/-110)
The Hawks (1-1) meet the Grizzlies (1-1) in the early game, and we have a tremendous matchup on tap. Atlanta bounced back from a 103-102 OT loss against the Utah Jazz on Saturday to drop the Oklahoma City Thunder 82-77 on Monday night. It’s a little on the early side, but the Hawks appear to have mined a gem with St. John’s standout Zuby Ejiofor. he went for 19 points and 15 rebounds with three assists and a block across 25 minutes. He had 11 rebounds in Saturday’s game against the Jazz, too.
The Hawks hit just 38% (27-of-72) from the field on Monday, while going 33% (12-of-36) from behind the 3-point line. Atlanta was plus-7 in the rebounding department against OKC, while going for nine steals and six blocks, while the Thunder managed totals of just four in both of the categories. Atlanta was plus-3 in turnover margin, too.
The Grizzlies suffered a 109-100 loss against the Jazz, but Cedric Coward was a bright spot with 23 points and three of the team’s four blocks. Cameron Boozer had another solid outing, going for 18 points while hitting four 3-pointers, while adding a team-high seven rebounds, four assists, and a steal. Javon Small posted three steals, which accounted for half of his team’s total. Olivier-Maxence Prosper added 16 points with three triples. Memphis did a very good job from distance, hitting 33% (14-of-42) from downtown.
Atlanta has averaged 92.0 points per game (PPG) in two games so far in SLC, while allowing 90.0 PPG. Memphis has rolled up 105.5 PPG, while conceding 91.5 PPG. We’re going to get a high-scoring affair, and let’s back the Grizzlies to get the job done against the number.
Picks: Grizzlies -3.5 (-110) & Over 179.5 Points (-110)
