Sunday’s Best NCAA College Basketball Same Game Parlays & Picks

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

No. 7 UCLA Bruins vs. No. 2 UConn Huskies

  • Leg 1: UConn -4.5 (-110)
  • Leg 2: UConn Team Total over 70.5 (-135)
  • Leg 3: Solo Ball Over 11.5 Points  (-129)

UConn will admit they did not play their best game in the opening round against Furman. The Huskies shot a brutal 20 percent from behind the arc (5-25), and this helped the Paladins stay in contention for a good portion of the game.

Connecticut's saving grace was the memorable performance from their big man, Tarris Reed. He had a performance for ages with 31 points and 27 rebounds, four more rebounds than Furman as a whole.

If UConn wants to continue their run into next weekend, they need to shoot better from three, and Solo Ball cannot score only 9 points.

UCLA also struggled in its first-round matchup from long range. This is one of the best three-point shooting teams in the country, ranking 20th in three-point percentage (37.9 percent), but shot only 28.5 percent (6-for-21) against Central Florida. This allowed the Knights to make this a close game in the final minutes.

For the Bruins, the status of leading scorer Tyler Bilodeau is important because he is the biggest presence in the back court, and someone who can defend Reed.

Even if Bilodeau plays, he will not be at 100%, which will help UConn move on to next weekend.

No. 9 Iowa Hawkeye vs. No. 1 Florida

  • Leg 1:Under 145.5 (-112)
  • Leg 2: Iowa +10.5 (-110)
  • Leg 3: Thomas Haugh 6+ Rebounds  (-135)

The Gators were all business as they demolished Prairie View A&M 114-55 in the opening round. Efficient on both ends, shooting 64 percent from the floor, and allowing the Panthers to shoot only 27 percent.

What makes the Gators tough is that they can score anyway they want. If you want to attack the interior and get physical in the paint, they can do it; if they want to live on the perimeter, they can beat you there.

That's why they like to run up-tempo and control the pace, and they do it well, ranking 29th in the nation with 70.5 possessions per game.

Pace is one of the biggest contrasts between these two teams. Iowa is the slowest-paced team remaining in the tournament and the fourth-slowest in the nation at 62.9 possessions per game.

The Hawkeyes' best chance to pull off the upset is to slow the game down and limit Florida's possessions. They are very stingy on defense, and they will make the Gators work for every basket; they rank 20th in opponents' effective field goal percentage.

The Gators are still the better team, but the Hawkeyes should be able to limit possessions and keep this a low-scoring game.
