NFL Best Bet for Bears at Rams: Sunday Night Football (Week 1)

If you’re like me, you fall victim to the Sunday scaries every week. The crushing reality of work yet-to-be-done starts to sink in sometime in the afternoon, and it’ll ruin the rest of the day if you let it. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to — just change the channel to ESPN! It’s much easier to procrastinate with Sunday Night Football occupying your attention.

PointsBet understands the struggle. That’s why they’re offering a $20 risk-free bet for Sunday night’s action. You can take advantage of the promotion on any market with a minimum of -200 odds. Unlike whatever work you’ve put off all weekend, you won’t have to worry about negative consequences with this offer.

Cole Kmet o23.5 Receiving Yards | -143 at PointsBet

Jalen Ramsey and the Rams locked opposing wide receivers down last season. They surrendered the fewest receiving yards to the position all season (2,075). The Rams didn’t fare as well against tight ends, though. They only gave up the ninth-fewest receiving yards to the position (731).

Their ninth-best result sounds decent, but context is important here — the Rams play the Seahawks and the Cardinals twice per year, and neither squad had anyone noteworthy at the position last year. George Kittle even missed one of his games against the Rams. In the lone game he played against Los Angeles, Kittle caught seven passes for 109 yards and a score. Weak tight end matchups last year mean that we don’t really know how good (or bad) the Rams are against the position.

The Rams also lost a couple of key defensive pieces in the offseason. Safety John Johnson III and cornerback Troy Hill fled Los Angeles for greener pastures in Cleveland. While Jordan Fuller should serve as an effective replacement for Johnson, it may take him a couple of weeks to adjust to wearing the green dot. Enter Cole Kmet.

Kmet caught two passes for 45 yards against the Rams last year. Jimmy Graham caught five passes for 31 yards in that same game. With Kmet likely to shoulder a larger workload at tight end this year, I expect him to cash this prop handily. PointsBet’s juice for this prop isn’t great, but you can get it risk-free over there.
