NFL Best Bet for Vikings at Cowboys: Sunday Night Football (Week 8)

If you’re like me, you fall victim to the Sunday scaries every week. The crushing reality of work yet-to-be-done starts to sink in sometime in the afternoon, and it’ll ruin the rest of the day if you let it. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to — just change the channel to ESPN! It’s much easier to procrastinate with Sunday Night Football occupying your attention.

PointsBet understands the struggle. That’s why they’re offering a $20 risk-free bet for Sunday night’s action. You can take advantage of the promotion on any market with a minimum of -200 odds. Unlike whatever work you’ve put off all weekend, you won’t have to worry about negative consequences with this offer.

Ezekiel Elliott 75+ Rushing Yards | -125 at PointsBet

The regular total for this prop (73.5) has slightly worse juice, so we’ll add on an extra yard for a bit more value. The Dallas Cowboys will need to feature Ezekiel Elliott heavily if they want to beat the Minnesota Vikings. While it’s still to be determined if Dak Prescott will suit up, it makes sense to give Zeke the ball regardless of who starts under center.

The Vikings simply cannot stop the run. They rank dead last in adjusted line yards through Week 7 after ranking dead last in the metric last year. So how has this affected them in the box score? In Week 6, they allowed Chuba Hubbard and Sam Darnold to combine for 109 yards. In Week 5, Jamaal Williams and D’Andre Swift combined for 108. Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt logged 169 in Week 4. Chris Carson and Alex Collins got 88 in Week 3. While those numbers don’t jump off the page, they do point to consistently poor defensive play. It’s also worth noting that of those opponents, only the Browns have a top-10 offensive line in adjusted line yards. In fact, they rank second, trailing only (you guessed it) the Cowboys.

Dallas’ offensive line is the primary reason to target this prop. They rank first in adjusted line yards (5.36) and are back to their efficient ways after a down season last year. While we don’t know much for sure about Prescott’s status, Dallas’ left tackle, Tyron Smith, is expected to play through his questionable tag. As a result, Elliott should have plenty of open running lanes and should soar past his total on Sunday Night Football.
