As the summer starts to fire up and America creeps out of it’s sporting shadow, the NFL is set to begin training camps in just over a month’s time. While fans being allowed inside stadiums still seems like a longshot, by all accounts the NFL is willing to play without them, to the delight of fans and sports bettors alike.

For sportsbooks, the real money related to the league will come in September, but thanks to a widely expanding legal market, NFL futures are all the craze.

Today, we take a look at the NFC East as the Dallas Cowboys (-105) and Philadelphia Eagles (+140) lead the way as far as odds go, with the New York Giants (+900) and Washington Redskins (+1300) trailing behind.

Here is who I see as having the most value remaining according to NFC East Divisional odds as posted by our friends over at FanDuel. And check out our consensus odds to win the NFC East here.

With 431.5 yards of total offense per game in 2019, the Dallas Cowboys were quietly the leagues most efficient offense led by emerging superstar quarterback Dak Prescott. His 4,902 passing yards led all but Buc’s Jameis Winston and his touchdown to interception ratio of 30:11 trailed only Russell Wilson.

At the running back position, fourth-year running back Ezekiel Elliott turned in another top-five campaign, rushing for 1,357 yards to go along with 12 touchdowns and 78 first downs. Despite being riddled with injuries and holdouts, Elliot has now turned in three 1,300+ yard seasons over his first four, and with one of the best offensive lines in the game, I have no reason not to expect another one in 2020.

The biggest change for the 2020 Dallas Cowboys will obviously be the coaching staff, as a new regime is in town led by former Packers head man Mike McCarthy. Bringing in Mike Nolan as his defensive coordinator, the Cowboys will transition to a 4-3 base team, and look to bolster a defense that arguably has been the only thing keeping them from a trip to the promised land.

This offseason, Jerry Jones and company wasted no time in giving Nolan some pieces to work with, bringing in linebacker Azur Kamara and defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, both sure to make an immediate impact for a unit in need of playmakers. In the secondary, the loss of Byron Jones will definitely be felt, but second-round pick Trevon Diggs, CB out of Alabama, should almost immediately be competing for a starting job at a position in desperate need of a guy who can go and get the ball.

Joining Diggs in the 2020 class, the Cowboys went out and got one of the most dynamic playmakers in the entire class in wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who should make an already lethal offense even more so.

The bottom line to me is while I’m not sure this Cowboys team is ready to compete for a Super Bowl until I see a vast improvement of their core defensive unit, the rest of the division pales in comparison from both a talent and leadership perspective. The core group of guys in this Dallas locker room should be able to navigate the McCarthy transition and take this team to their third division title in five years.

Prediction: Dallas Cowboys -105
