NFL Monday Night Football Player Props (Week 12): Ravens vs. Chargers

The NFL is gifting us a great AFC interdivisional matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium on Monday Night Football. John Harbaugh and Jim Harbaugh will face off for the first time since Jim’s return to the NFL. John led the Ravens to a 34-31 win over Jim’s San Francisco 49ers during Super Bowl 47 back in 2013.

The Chargers and Ravens have both had good seasons thus far, with Los Angeles trending upward since their Week 5 bye, going 5-1 against their previous six opponents. Baltimore is coming off its fourth loss of the year on the road against Pittsburgh in Week 11, losing 18-16 despite scoring two touchdowns and holding the Steelers out of the end zone. Neither team leads its division, so the stakes are high to remain in a favorable position to clinch an AFC playoff berth ahead of this Week 12 matchup on Monday night.

Last week, my NFL Monday Night Football Player Props (Week 11) went 0-2. Cowboys WR Jalen Tolbert finished with two receptions despite getting five targets with a good game script, failing to cash over 2.5 receptions. Texans RB Joe Mixon logged 20 carries, falling just short of going over 20.5 carries despite recording 109 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns during Houston’s 34-10 win.

I’ve got two NFL Monday Night Football player props to bet on ahead of tonight’s matchup between the Ravens and the Chargers. Follow me on X at Matt_MacKay_ for more NFL free bets and weekly analysis.

Justin Herbert – Interception: No (-108)

Chargers QB Justin Herbert has become much more productive as a passer since the team’s Week 5 bye. The former No. 6 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft has thrown for two or more touchdowns in three of Los Angeles’ last four games and he’ll draw a great matchup against the Ravens’ porous pass defense. Baltimore is allowing the fifth-most net pass yards per attempt (6.7) and 22 passing touchdowns, ranked third-worst in the NFL.

We’re going to invest in Herbert’s accuracy and bet on the Chargers’ franchise quarterback to not throw an interception on Monday Night Football against the Ravens. Herbert has only thrown one interception in 2024, which came back in Week 2 against Carolina. He’s gone eight consecutive games without throwing an interception and Baltimore’s defense has failed to record an interception in three of its last five games. This includes matchups against Joe Burrow, Jameis Winston, and Jayden Daniels.

Let’s stake a unit on Herbert to not throw an interception and extend his streak to nine games in a favorable matchup at home against Baltimore.

Derrick Henry O 17.5 Rush Attempts (-128)

We’ve seen Derrick Henry get contained by three of Baltimore’s last four opponents, resulting in a 2-2 record for the Ravens during this stretch. Henry has recorded 16 or fewer carries in three of these four games, going over 17.5 rush attempts against Denver during a 41-10 rout in Week 9.

Game script is a big factor for Henry to hit the over on his rushing attempt prop but Los Angeles does not have a good run defense. The Chargers have surrendered over 110 or more rushing yards in seven of their last eight games played, while defending the pass significantly better, allowing under 225 passing yards in four of their six games played since Week 6.

Henry will get fed carries early and often to get Baltimore’s offense into a rhythm and set up QB Lamar Jackson for some explosive play action pass attempts downfield. Let’s stake a unit on Henry to record over 17.5 carries for the sixth time in 2024 and the first time since Week 9 against the Chargers on Monday Night Football.
