NFL Monday Night Football Same Game Parlay: Jets vs. Dolphins

If there's ever a must-win situation, both teams are facing that. It will be tough for either team to make the playoffs. Since 1990, of the 165 teams to start 0-3, only four made the playoffs. It gets worse, as only one team has made the playoffs after going 0-4. We’ll make a same-game parlay (SGP) for this Monday night matchup. Let’s look at our top NFL same game parlay picks.

NFL Same Game Parlay for Monday Night Football: Jets vs. Dolphins

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

New York Jets vs. Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins had their best performance last week in a competitive game against the Bills, where they never trailed by more than a touchdown until the final 22 seconds. The offense was inconsistent; while they scored three touchdowns, they also had three three-and-outs. This was the third-highest scoring offense two years ago, and it still has most of its key pieces in place; this offense can right the ship.

The defense, however, looks lost early in the season. They are last in points allowed per game (32.2) and defensive expected points added (EPA) per play (0.246). The offense will likely need to make a significant contribution in this game to secure a win.

The Jets’ defense isn't that far off, allowing the fourth-most points (31) and ranking 28th in defensive EPA per play (0.132). New York decided to hire another defensive-minded coach in former Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, following the departure of Robert Saleh. As a result, it's tough to see a defensive unit with a lot of talent, such as Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams, not performing up to expectations.

The offense has been the aspect that has kept them competitive in the closer losses. The run-play option (RPO) offense with Justin Fields is working, as they are 14th in rushing success rate (47.2%) and 15th in passing (44.9%).

Both teams should have the ability to balance the run and pass, keeping each offense on its heels. They've also each played games where the total has gone over 50 points. In mild Miami conditions, the offenses could set the tone for this game.
