Cincinnati Bengals at Buffalo Bills, 1 PM, CBS

The Bengals opened up the year by putting up a fight in Seattle, but they came home last week and laid an egg versus the 49ers. The Bills are 2-0 after sweeping the two New York teams at MetLife Stadium. This will be the home opener for Buffalo, a team that looks like one to watch in the AFC. They’ll give the home crowd something to cheer about with a win and cover.

The Pick: Buffalo Bills -6 (-110)

Miami Dolphins at Dallas Cowboys, 1 PM, FOX

This is one of two massive spreads on the board for Week 3. The number has climbed dramatically since opening at 16 points in favor of the hosts. While huge numbers make us nervous, that’s not the case here. The Dolphins are atrocious and showing no signs of life. The Cowboys are rolling and in line to win this one in a laugher.

The Pick: Dallas Cowboys -21.5 (-110)

Denver Broncos at Green Bay Packers, 1 PM, FOX

The Packers have impressed in the early part of the year while going 2-0. The team spent wisely on bolstering the defense in the offseason. Once the offense starts to click, this is a squad that can make some noise. The Broncos are 0-2, but the defense looked better last week and will continue to improve. Green Bay wins, but Denver keeps it closer than expected.

The Pick: Denver Broncos +7.5 (-110)

Atlanta Falcons at Indianapolis Colts, 1 PM, CBS

This is one of the few games on the afternoon slate with a tight spread. The two clubs are 1-1 and match up well overall. The Colts bounced back from a Week 1 heartbreaker with a close win over the Titans, while the Falcons picked up the pieces of a tough loss in the opener to take down the Eagles. This could be a back-and-forth affair. Colts win and cover a tight one.

The Pick: Indianapolis Colts -1.5 (-110)

Baltimore Ravens at Kansas City Chiefs, 1 PM, CBS

Outside of the Patriots, these two clubs have been the most impressive in the AFC through two weeks. However, the oddsmakers are seeing a gap with the Chiefs installed as pretty big home favorites. They’re the better team on paper, but the Ravens have looked really solid. This is another one that’s closer than expected. Ravens cover, and an upset wouldn’t be stunning.

The Pick: Baltimore Ravens +6.5 (-110)

Oakland Raiders at Minnesota Vikings, 1 PM, FOX

If you’re not already doing so, pay attention to the line moves during the week. The Vikings opened up as seven-point home favorites for this one, but it has moved to nine points as of this writing. While the Raiders were rolled at home by the Chiefs on Sunday, the team looks much better than it did a season ago. They’re not going to win, but they can cover a hefty spread.

The Pick: Oakland Raiders +9 (-110)

New York Jets at New England Patriots, 1 PM, CBS

The season is quickly approaching the disaster zone for the Jets, but Sam Darnold may be back before too long. In the interim, Luke Falk gets the start against a Patriots’ team which has a habit of making life miserable for young quarterbacks. The spread is gigantic, but the Patriots are looking every bit the part of a juggernaut. They win with ease and cover.

The Pick: New England Patriots -22.5 (-110)

Detroit Lions at Philadelphia Eagles, 1 PM, FOX

After allowing the Cardinals to come back for a Week 1 tie, the Lions came home and handled business versus the Chargers. There may be more to see here in Detroit than many are realizing. The Eagles enter the game with a mark of 1-1 and a banged-up corps of wide receivers. They’re the better team and should win at home, but the Lions make them work for it.

The Pick: Detroit Lions +6.5 (-110)

Carolina Panthers at Arizona Cardinals, 4:05 PM, FOX

The status of Cam Newton for this contest is unclear as of this writing. We could see additional movement in the spread as we get closer to game time. Either way, the Cardinals have shown something in spite of being winless through two games. They’ll put up a fight and keep this one close at home, and seeing them get their first win of the year wouldn’t be surprising either.

The Pick: Arizona Cardinals +2.5 (-110)

New York Giants at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 4:05 PM, FOX

The Daniel Jones era officially begins with this game. We’ll see if that provides a spark, as the Giants haven’t shown much at all in two losses. The Buccaneers looked much better in Week 2 as they evened their record on the year. However, this line has already moved from Tampa Bay -4 to -6.5. Buccaneers win, but Giants keep it closer than that as the team begins to perk up.

The Pick: New York Giants +6.5 (-110)

Houston Texans at Los Angeles Chargers, 4:25 PM, CBS

This one looks like the top contest of the late afternoon slate between two AFC playoff hopefuls. The teams are both 1-1 and have opened the year with tight games which were decided late. It’s not a reach to expect more of the same here. While Los Angeles is the better overall team on paper, they don’t seem to be gelling yet. Houston covers, and they could steal one to boot.

The Pick: Houston Texans +3 (-110)

Pittsburgh Steelers at San Francisco 49ers, 4:25 PM, CBS

Doom and gloom abounds for the Steelers now that Ben Roethlisberger is out for the year. The 49ers have looked fantastic while picking up two big road wins. As such, it’s not tough to see why the line is high for this one. However, Pittsburgh kept it close versus the Seahawks even after Roethlisberger went down. They can do the same here.

The Pick: Pittsburgh Steelers +6.5 (-110)

New Orleans Saints at Seattle Seahawks, 4:25 PM, CBS

The Saints are yet another team which has been bitten by the quarterback injury bug. Teddy Bridgewater and Taysom Hill could both see reps in a tough road game with the Seahawks. New Orleans won’t necessarily fall off a cliff in the absence of Brees, but it’s going to take a while for the offense to adapt. Seattle wins to go to 3-0 and covers in the process.

The Pick: Seattle Seahawks -4.5 (-110)
