NFL Parlay Picks: Week 2 (2019)

The Sunday afternoon slate for Week 2 of the NFL regular season is packed with 13 games. There are a lot of big spreads out there as the market continues to react to the results of Week 1. Let’s dig in and make sense of it all.

San Francisco 49ers at Cincinnati Bengals, 1 PM, FOX

The 49ers impressed last week with a big win over the Buccaneers, while the Bengals showed a ton of fight in heading to Seattle and losing a 1-point decision. It could be a big turnaround year in San Francisco, but a transition vibe is still emanating out of Cincinnati. We like the 49ers to go to 2-0 and cover.

The Pick: San Francisco 49ers +1.5 (-110)

Los Angeles Chargers at Detroit Lions, 1 PM, CBS

These two squads both needed overtime to decide things in Week 1. In the Chargers case, it was justified as they played a scrappy Colts team. It was a different story for the Lions, a team which was up big on the Cardinals but couldn’t seal the deal. Los Angles is a much more talented club and covers on the road this week.

The Pick: Los Angeles Chargers -2.5 (-110)

Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers, 1 PM, FOX

Defense ruled the day for both of these teams in their Week 1 victories, so we could be in for a slugfest. As the field goal spread indicates, this is close to a toss-up. The Vikings showed more on offense than the Packers did last week, but they also faced a sieve-like Falcons unit. The run game will have a tougher time getting going this time around. Green Bay wins and covers.

The Pick: Green Bay Packers -3 (-110)

Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans, 1 PM, CBS

The Colts may have lost to the Chargers, but they showed a lot in defeat. This team can still be competitive without the services of Andrew Luck. The Titans delivered one of the most impressive performances of Week 1 when they went on the road and shellacked the Browns. Tennessee is a serious AFC South contender. We like them to stay undefeated and cover.

The Pick: Tennessee Titans -3 (-110)

New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins, 1 PM, CBS

On paper, this is one of the biggest mismatches in recent NFL history. Unsurprisingly, the spread is massive as a result. The Dolphins typically step it up for the Patriots, but the team showed nothing resembling fight in last week’s annihilation at the hands of the Ravens. New England dismantled the Steelers on Sunday. They’ll have little trouble doing the same here.

The Pick: New England Patriots -19 (-110)

Buffalo Bills at New York Giants, 1 PM, CBS

The Bills were on the mat late in Sunday’s game with the Jets, but the team rallied to steal a 1-point road win. The Giants were clobbered by the Cowboys and looked out of sorts while doing so. Buffalo could be a team to watch for a Wild Card berth in 2019. We can’t say the same about New York. We’ll take the Bills minus the points.

The Pick: Buffalo Bills -1.5 (-110)

Seattle Seahawks at Pittsburgh Steelers, 1 PM, FOX

The Seahawks were expected to walk all over the Bengals last week, but they wound up in a dogfight before escaping with a 1-point win. The Steelers were dropped by the Patriots by a score of 33-3, a game which wasn’t as close as the score suggests. Pittsburgh as a 4-point favorite over a tough Seattle team is a bit rich off of that performance.

The Pick: Seattle Seahawks +4 (-110)

Dallas Cowboys at Washington Redskins, 1 PM, FOX

The soap opera that is the offseason in Dallas is over. The Cowboys hit the field on Sunday and resembled every bit the part of a contender. The Redskins gave the Eagles all that they could handle in Week 1 before coming up short. We expect similar results this week. Washington plays them tough, but Dallas pulls away at the end to cover.

The Pick: Dallas Cowboys -5 (-110)

Arizona Cardinals at Baltimore Ravens, 1 PM, FOX

Through three quarters, Kyler Murray and the Cardinals collectively looked out of their element. The rookie flipped the switch and the team rallied for a tie with the visiting Lions. The Ravens clobbered the Dolphins and looked fantastic while doing so, but perspective is needed. Miami is atrocious. Arizona will show more fight and cover this hefty spread.

The Pick: Arizona Cardinals +13.5 (-110)

Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans, 1 PM, CBS

Week 1 didn’t go too swimmingly for the Jaguars. Opening the season with a home loss and losing a starter to injury is generally not a sign of good things to come. The Texans gave the Saints all they could handle on Monday night before losing a heartbreaker. They win here at home, but the Jaguars can keep it closer than expected behind Gardner Minshew.

The Pick: Jacksonville Jaguars +9 (-110)

Kansas City Chiefs at Oakland Raiders, 4:05 PM, CBS

The Chiefs offense picked right up where it left off in Sunday’s big win over the Jaguars. Tyreek Hill is out to injury, but there are plenty of other weapons to fill the void. The Raiders left the offseason drama behind and impressed with a home win over the Broncos. They don’t have the firepower to overcome Kansas City, but they can keep it closer than expected.

The Pick: Oakland Raiders +7 (-110)

Chicago Bears at Denver Broncos, 4:25 PM, FOX

The Bears couldn’t get anything going in the loss to the Packers, while the Broncos didn’t show much in the defeat to the Raiders. New Broncos head coach Vic Fangio gets to face his former team as both clubs look to avoid going into an 0-2 hole. While Chicago is the better team on paper, we’re zagging the other way and looking for a Denver upset.

The Pick: Denver Broncos +2.5 (-110)

New Orleans Saints at Los Angeles Rams, 4:25 PM, FOX

The marquee matchup of the Sunday afternoon slate needs no introduction. These are two of the best the NFC has to offer, and seeing them meet in the title tilt once again wouldn’t be surprising. The Saints have had an entire offseason to stew over how last year’s NFC Championship game turned out. New Orleans serves Los Angeles a dish of revenge here.

The Pick: New Orleans Saints +2.5 (-110)
