NFL Playoff Props: Most Playoff Passing Yards (2021)

The 2020 NFL regular season seemingly ended as fast as it started, as the postseason is upon us and filled with mostly familiar faces. With the restart, a host of new playoff-specific futures and props have arrived.

Our friends over at FanDuel are offering one such playoff prop that keys in on which quarterback will have the most passing yards. Let’s take a closer look at the field and see where we can identify some value.

Favorite Play

Josh Allen (QB – BUF): +300
Averaging 284 yards per game through the regular season, Bills quarterback Josh Allen has seemingly improve each and every week. Allen threw for 320 yards or more in three of his last five games, all wins.

Coming into the postseason as the highest seed in the AFC without a bye, Allen should have two games to pad his stats before conceivably going up against his closest challenger in the odds, Patrick Mahomes (+320), in the AFC Championship Game.

A 2020 NFL MVP finalist, Allen’s production and efficiency have taken a significant step forward this season. Being the odds-on favorite to have the most postseason passing yards makes perfect sense.

Value Play

Ben Roethlisberger (QB – PIT): +1500
Entering the postseason as the No. 3 seed in the AFC, a win on Sunday night could very well give the Steelers at least one more home game this postseason. They undoubtedly look most comfortable at Heinz Field. Ben Roethlisberger threw for a combined 646 yards and five touchdowns in his final two home games.

While much has been made about his inability to throw downfield, Roethlisberger’s Week 16 performance against the Colts seemed to quiet that chatter significantly. Taking Week 17 off should help as well, as the Steelers had an early Week 4 bye due to COVID-19 issues.

With virtually no running game to speak of and a stable of young wide receivers possessing the size and speed to compete with any set in the league, I expect Roethlisberger to get his early and often this postseason.

Heading into the postseason with arguably the best defense in the AFC should help matters as well, as their ability to get offenses off the field puts the ball in Roethlisberger’s hands even more.
