NFL Playoff Props: Most Playoff Receiving Yards (2021)

The 2020 NFL season was nothing if not turbulent, as COVID-19 challenges impacted nearly every team in one form or another. While limited or no fans will still be the norm in the postseason, that shouldn’t translate to less excitement.

There’s no shortage of talent at the skill positions from top to bottom of both conferences. When it comes to bets featuring those players, our friends over at FanDuel offer one such playoff prop on which pass-catcher will have the most receiving yards.

Let’s take a closer look at the field and see where we can identify an edge among the candidates.

Favorite Play

Stefon Diggs (WR – BUF): +450
Finishing the regular season with a league-leading 1,535 receiving yards (95.9 per game), Stefon Diggs is the clear-cut favorite to win this prop. With the Bills well-positioned to play three games, Diggs should perceivably also have the most opportunities to reel in catches ahead of a potential Super Bowl appearance.

All of these factors — combined with Diggs’ acceleration in yardage over the back half of the season — make it clear why he’s the odds-on favorite to cash the ticket.

Value Play

D.K. Metcalf (WR – SEA): +700
In just his second year in the league, Seahawks receiver D.K. Metcalf has taken significant strides and seemingly garnered more trust from his QB. While his final games of the regular season were quiet compared to his first, the Seahawks found themselves in fewer situations where they needed to pass.

Entering the postseason, first against the Rams but looking to make a deep run, I expect the Seahawks to lean on veteran Russell Wilson, who should air it out accordingly. Metcalf ranked 11th with 15.7 yards per reception, a key statistic in cashing this ticket with only limited opportunities for receptions available.

Additionally, the 2019 postseason was where Metcalf really came onto the national scene in a big way. Metcalf posted 219 yards in two games, including 66 yards after the catch (YAC). If he can produce at the same level as his rookie season, we should be in good shape to bring this one home.
