NFL Prop Bets: Week 7 (2019)

A slate of games brings us another batch of NFL prop bets. This week we target four pass-catchers who provide a ton of value at their current lines. We also go back to a running back that has been up and down for us bettors this season.

Before we proceed ahead, let’s take a look back at the week that was. Two of the bets were easy wins. The contest between the Falcons and Cardinals played out just as I hoped. Both Kyler Murray and Matt Ryan went over their passing yardage totals. Chris Carson smashed his rushing yards total going over by 40 yards.

The other two bets did not work out quite as well. Matt Breida was underwhelming against the Rams despite the 49ers winning the game in convincing fashion. As for Dalvin Cook, the Stefon Diggs breakout kept him quiet in the passing game.

So which NFL prop bets do I like Week 7? Let’s head to DraftKings Sportsbook to find some winners!

Brandin Cooks – Over 64.5 Receiving Yards (-112)

I love Brandin Cooks this week. The Atlanta Falcons have been horrendous against the pass all season long. Jared Goff should throw for a ton of yards in this spot, even on the road. This week the Falcons will be without Desmond Trufant which only helps Cooks and his potential. This game features the highest over/under of the week and one of the two games with a total in the 50s. I’m expecting Cooks to approach 100 receiving yards and have a monster performance in this contest.

Evan Engram – Over 5.5 Receptions (-125)

While this line comes with a little bit heavier juice, taking the over on 5.5 receptions in this spot is the side to be on. Daniel Jones is going to be very happy to have Engram back this week for a passing game that was devoid of pass-catchers a week ago. The offense will be down Sterling Shepard this week which only magnifies the return of Engram.

The Giants welcome the Arizona Cardinals who are not only awful against opposing passing games but specifically against the tight end. Fantasy Football players know how bad this defense is against the position. They are currently allowing the most fantasy points to the position by a wide margin. To go one step further, this defense has allowed the opposing TEs to catch six or more passes in five of six contests.

TY Hilton – Over 65.5 Receiving Yards (-125)

While there is no such thing as free money, this bet is pretty dang close. TY Hilton has dominated this team year over year, including 13 catches for 314 yards in his two games in 2018. You can check out his track record below courtesy Ian Hartitz.

As a matter of fact, I would gladly take Hilton at plus money (+117) vs DeAndre Hopkins for most receiving yards in this contest. It’s always a little scary to go against Nuk Hopkins who can have a monster performance in any game, but it is worth it in this contest.

Terry McLaurin to score a TD (+225)

Terry McLaurin has been a revelation for the Washington Redskins this season. He has emerged as a legitimate weapon on the outside for a team that desperately needed it. In fact, he has found the end zone in four of the five games he has played this season.

I do have some concern that the 49ers defense that has been awesome thus far doesn’t allow Case Keenum to get going and leaves their offense in neutral. It may require some garbage time production but I think McLaurin finds himself in the end zone in this contest. At +225 the value is there to take the gamble.

Sony Michel to score and the Patriots to win (+600)

I have had a love/hate relationship with Sony Michel thus far this season. He has performed for me in some contests and let me down in others. That said, I am going back to the well with him this week. The Patriots are on the road to take on the New York Jets this week as big favorites. Now, I’m not sure I would be on the Patriots to cover, I would be very surprised to see them lose.

Under that premise, winning this bet would just require Michel to find the end zone. While it’s far from a lock, getting 6/1 odds on it feels like tremendous value. The Patriots are notorious for mixing and matching their running backs but I think the Georgia product can find the end zone this week.
