NFL London Same Game Parlay: Eagles vs. Jaguars (Week 5)
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
- Leg 1: Will Shipley Under 35.5 Rushing Yards (-114)
- Leg 2: Will Shipley 15+ Receiving Yards (-135)
- Leg 3: Bhayshul Tuten 70+ Rushing Yards (-101)
In case you haven't heard, the Eagles' offensive line is in shambles. Lane Johnson just retired, Cam Jurgens was surprisingly traded to Baltimore, and Landon Dickerson is still sidelined. Plus, new starting center Drew Kendall has been ruled out ahead of this week's game. That's four starters along the O-line.
It's a less-than-ideal situation for the offense, anyway, but it gets even worse. Saquon Barkley and Tank Bigsby are also both out. That means Will Shipley and newly-elevated Dameon Pierce headline the Eagles' backfield. Rushing should be very tough to come by behind that makeshift offensive line.
Let's fade Shipley's rushing yards prop in this situation. The Jaguars have been stout against the run this season. Jacksonville is allowing just 3.3 yards per carry, the second-fewest in the league. The defense is also giving up a league-low 47.5 rushing yards per game to opposing running backs. The Jags are stifling every back in their way, and Shipley has to face them with his shaky line.
However, Shipley could be productive as a pass-catcher. Jacksonville is allowing the second-most receiving yards (48.3) and receptions (6.75) per game to running backs this year. Teams are getting stuffed in the run game and looking to use their RBs on quick passes. The Eagles should take a similar approach, especially since Jalen Hurts won't have much time to drop back and throw. Plus, Shipley has proven pass-catching chops from his days at Clemson.
Meanwhile, the other lead back in this game should be in for a big day. Bhayshul Tuten is averaging 4.6 yards per carry with at least 65 rushing yards in each game. He's gained 73 yards in back-to-back weeks ahead of this matchup. On that note, the Eagles are allowing 106.3 rushing yards per game to opposing RBs, the eighth-highest mark in the league.
The Philly defense has also given up 60+ rushing yards to every opposing lead back it's faced this year. In the past two games, the Eagles allowed 84 yards to D'Andre Swift and 80 to Kyren Williams. Tuten can follow suit, especially in a favorable game flow. Jacksonville could be running it a ton in the second half with a lead, considering the touchdown spread.
