Best NFL Week 10 Sunday Night Football Player Prop Bets: Lions vs. Texans

(Odds Courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Joe Mixon 100+ Rushing Yards (+210)

Let’s start with a plus-odds banger. Houston’s best chance at remaining unbeaten at home is keeping Detroit’s offense on the sideline. Of course, one way to do that is by controlling the ground game. Running back Joe Mixon has been outstanding in his first season with the Texans, averaging a ridiculous 101.5 rushing yards per outing. The former Oklahoma standout has crossed the triple-digit mark in five of his six contests played. The sole miss was due to an ankle injury suffered during the third quarter.

The Lions have been fortunate to play with a lead for the majority of the year. It has masked a key defensive liability as they rank 27th in opponent rushing yards per attempt (4.8). Take note that Detroit has conceded 93 rushing yards to Minnesota’s Aaron Jones, 94 to Tennessee’s Tony Pollard and 95 to Green Bay’s Josh Jacobs across the last three weeks. Mixon is logging over 20 carries per game and is the heartbeat of Houston’s offense. Trust him to ball out on a national stage for a healthy payout.

Dalton Schultz Under 40.5 Receiving Yards (-120)

A commitment to the rushing attack won’t leave much room for Houston tight end Dalton Schultz to excel. The 28-year-old tight end has already struggled to carve out a consistent offensive role as it is. Schultz’s receiving yards per game average has dropped from 42.3 in 2023 to 27.1 in 2024. His receptions per game average has fallen from 3.9 to 2.9. It doesn’t help that he has posted a career-worst 59.1% catch percentage through nine contests. Coaches have emphasized his blocking abilities for a reason.

Detroit has been shutting down opposing tight ends left and right. It has surrendered the second-fewest yards to the position (244) on the third-fewest receptions (29). The Lions have kept producers like Tampa Bay’s Cade Otton (zero catches) and Arizona’s Trey McBride (three receptions, 25 yards) in check with relative ease. Overall, Schultz has yet to surpass 34 receiving yards in any clash this campaign and Detroit has not given up more than 40 yards to a tight end since Week 1. Lock in this prop bet with confidence.

Amon-Ra St. Brown Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+105)

The red zone connection between quarterback Jared Goff and wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is unreal. St. Brown has tallied 10 receptions and accounted for a 59.7% target percentage inside the 20-yard line, which is the third-highest rate among NFL wideouts. The two Detroit stars have linked for a touchdown in six straight games. Five of those six scores have come from within 10 yards of the goal line. Pinpoint accuracy from Goff and quick separation skills from St. Brown is a menacing combination.

St. Brown draws an ideal matchup to maintain his hot streak. Opponents are scoring a touchdown on 69.6% of its red-zone trips against Houston (fourth-highest rate in the NFL). The Texans have allowed the second-most touchdowns to opposing wide receivers, too (14). The Lions will lean on their two-headed running back monster to drive down the field. However, they have shown that their strategy is to lean on St. Brown near the end zone. The Pro Bowler will have another opportunity to celebrate.
