New York Jets @ Pittsburgh Steelers SGP
- Leg 1: Aaron Rodgers Over 227.5 Passing Yards (-115)
- Leg 2: Aaron Rodgers Over 21.5 Passing Completions (-105)
- Leg 3: Aaron Rodgers Over 32.5 Passing Attempts (-125)
- Leg 4: Aaron Rodgers Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (+105)
- Leg 5: Breece Hall Over 20.5 Receiving Yards (-175)
It probably shouldn’t have surprised anyone when a 40-year-old quarterback was rusty after tearing his Achilles in 2023. Aaron Rodgers had 167 and 176 passing yards in the first two weeks.
Rodgers has found his footing in four subsequent games. According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), among 34 quarterbacks with at least 50 dropbacks since Week 3, Rodgers is 11th in PFF’s passing grade, eighth in passing yards (1,044), ninth in big-time throw percentage (4.5%), has a 73.4% adjusted completion rate and has the eighth-lowest turnover-worthy-play percentage (2.0%).
The four-time MVP Award winner was also tied for the 13th-shallowest average depth of throw (7.7) in the four-game period. So, he’s piling up short throws, which take longer to move down the field, and enhancing his odds to surpass 32.5 pass attempts and 21.5 completions if he’s completing the short passes and moving the sticks.
Gang Green’s offensive tendencies are also ideal for Rodgers’s four listed overs in the same game parlay. According to RotoViz’s pace app, the Jets are tied for the second-highest situation-neutral pass rate (63%) this year. Notably, they had the same 63% situation-neutral pass rate in Todd Downing’s first game as the play-caller in Week 6.
Rodgers has eclipsed 32.5 pass attempts and 21.5 completions in four consecutive games. He’s also surpassed 227.5 passing yards in three of his previous four games, tallying 225 in the outlier, a rainy contest in New Jersey against Denver’s stingy pass defense.
Rodgers has also regularly tossed multiple touchdowns. He’s exceeded 1.5 in four of six games this season. New York’s tendencies in the red zone are optimal for Rodgers’s opportunity to clear 1.5 passing touchdowns against the Steelers. According to the data suite at Fantasy Points, New York’s 66.7% pass rate inside the 10-yard line is tied for the second-highest mark in the NFL this year. Therefore, another multi-touchdown outing is well within his range of outcomes. FantasyPros projects Rodgers to have 33.2 pass attempts, 21.8 completions, 235.8 passing yards and 1.5 passing touchdowns against the Steelers.
New York’s pass-heavy tendencies are also ideal for Breece Hall’s receiving potential. According to Pro Football Reference, Hall has averaged 4.3 receptions and 34.0 receiving yards per game. He’s surpassed 20.5 receiving yards four times in six games, including tallying a season-high 56 last week. FantasyPros projects him to have 27.9 receiving yards against a defense coughing up 35.8 receiving yards per game to running backs.
