Week 6 Sunday Night Football Touchdown Scorer Prop Bets

Cincinnati Bengals First TD Scorer: Zack Moss (+290)

Some teams lean on the same players early in games every week. However, the Bengals have had a different first-touchdown scorer in every game this season. Moss scored the team's first touchdown in Week 1. Furthermore, a Cincinnati running back has the team's first touchdown in 40% of the games. Unfortunately, Chase Brown (quad) is questionable to play Sunday night after being a limited participant in practice on Thursday and Friday.

Meanwhile, Moss was a full participant in Friday's practice after suffering a foot injury last week, suggesting he will play against the Giants. New York's defense has been inconsistent this year. They held an explosive Washington Commanders offense without a touchdown in Week 2. Yet, the Giants have also struggled against weaker offenses. More importantly, the first touchdown scored against New York has been by a running back in half of their matchups this season.

New York Giants First TD Scorer: Tyrone Tracy Jr. (+290)

Hopefully, bettors waited until today to place this bet. Devin Singletary was my initial pick to score the first touchdown for the Giants on Sunday night. Unfortunately, he won’t play because of a groin injury. Therefore, Tracy will get his second consecutive start after an impressive Week 5 performance. While the rookie running back didn’t score a touchdown against the Seattle Seahawks last week, he had 129 rushing yards, averaging 7.2 yards per attempt.

New York has failed to score a touchdown in 40% of their games this season. However, a  running back scored the first Giants' touchdown in two of three contests where the team found the end zone. Meanwhile, the Bengals have surrendered five rushing touchdowns to running backs, the seventh-most in the NFL. More importantly, the first touchdown scored against Cincinnati has been by a running back in all but one game, including three straight contests.

Anytime TD Scorer: Ja'Marr Chase (-115)

The Bengals' offense was a mess over the first few weeks. Thankfully, they've been better after getting Chase more involved. The superstar wide receiver has averaged 8.3 targets per game over the past three weeks after totaling 11 in the first two contests. More importantly, Chase leads the team with five offensive touchdowns this season. All five touchdowns have come over the past three weeks, totaling two scores in two games, including last week.

While the Giants lack big-name players in their secondary, they've played well against talented passing attacks this season. However, New York has struggled to keep wide receivers out of the end zone. The Giants have surrendered six receiving touchdowns to wide receivers over the first five weeks, the seventh-most in the NFL. More importantly, four of the six wide receiver touchdowns scored against New York were by the opposing team's No. 1 option.

Anytime TD Scorer: Darius Slayton (+140)

Slayton stepped up for the Giants in Week 5, with Malik Nabers missing the game because of a concussion. After averaging 3.8 targets per game over the first four weeks, the veteran wide receiver had a team-high 11 last week. More importantly, he found the end zone, scoring a 30-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Bettors should expect Slayton to have another high target share performance with Nabers out of the lineup for the second consecutive game.

More importantly, the veteran wide receiver has been outstanding in his last four games without the talented rookie, finding the end zone in every contest. Meanwhile, the Bengals have struggled with outside No. 1 wide receivers over the past three weeks, giving up 10.3 targets per game and two touchdowns. Furthermore, Cincinnati has given up five receiving touchdowns to wide receivers this year, with the No. 1 guy accounting for three of them.
