Week 4 Sunday Night Football Touchdown Scorer Prop Bets
Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook
Buffalo Bills First TD Scorer: James Cook (+390)
After totaling four rushing touchdowns and five receiving touchdowns in his first two NFL seasons, Cook has become a scoring machine in 2024. He has three rushing touchdowns over the first three weeks, a career-high. More importantly, the former Georgia star has scored the first Buffalo touchdown in the past two games. Cook had a receiving touchdown in Week 2 and a rushing score last week.
Baltimore had an elite defense last year, surrendering nine rushing touchdowns and two receiving touchdowns to running backs. Unfortunately, their defense has had a rocky start this season, giving up two rushing touchdowns to running backs in the first two games. More importantly, the first touchdown scored against the Ravens has been a rushing one in every contest, including Alexander Mattison in Week 2. Expect the Bills to build their game plan for this game around Cook.
Baltimore Ravens First TD Scorer: Derrick Henry (+225)
The Ravens have always been a run-first offense with Lamar Jackson under center. After years of using J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards, and below-average running backs, Henry has given the team an elite weapon in the backfield alongside Jackson. The future Hall of Fame running back has four rushing touchdowns this season, accounting for 80% of the team's total and the most in the NFL.
Henry has scored at least one rushing touchdown in every game this year, including two last week against the Dallas Cowboys. Furthermore, the veteran running back had Baltimore's first touchdown of the season in Week 1. Meanwhile, the Bills have surrendered two touchdowns to running backs this year. However, they haven't faced a rushing attack like the Ravens over the first three weeks. Henry should find the end zone at least once Sunday night.
Anytime TD Scorer: Khalil Shakir (+175)
The Bills have an entirely new receiving core after moving on from Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis in the offseason. While Keon Coleman might become Josh Allen's No. 1 wide receiver someday, Shakir currently holds that title. He is the only one on the team with more than one receiving touchdown this season, totaling two, including one last week. More importantly, the third-year player has run a team-high 82.5% of his routes from the slot.
Unfortunately, the Ravens have struggled to stop the pass this season, surrendering four receiving touchdowns to wide receivers. More importantly, they have been awful against slot pass catchers. Baltimore has given up the fifth-most targets (37) and the seventh-most receiving touchdowns (two) to slot receivers over the first three weeks. Shakir has caught 12 of his 14 receptions and both touchdowns from the slot. He should have a strong performance against the Ravens.
Anytime TD Scorer: Rashod Bateman (+360)
While Mark Andrews has severely struggled to make an impact over the first three weeks, Bateman has quietly played well for Baltimore. The veteran has one of Lamar Jackson's three passing touchdowns, scoring last week against the Cowboys. Furthermore, he is tied with Zay Flowers and Isaiah Likely for the team lead in end zone targets (two). However, Bateman leads the Ravens in first-read target share inside the red zone (50%).
Many thought the Bills defense would struggle this year after losing several veteran players in the offseason. However, despite dealing with multiple injuries, they've been one of the top units in the NFL. The only touchdown Buffalo has allowed to wide receivers this season came in Week 1 to Michael Wilson, with the defense focused on shutting down Marvin Harrison Jr. Don't be surprised if Bateman scores for the second consecutive week.
